I don't deal with photo manipulation much.. I chose a poor quality photo on purpose, just to see if I could actually improve the quality any.

I like your work but this aint great, you made the hair look distorted same with the woman. You can see the lines on the original but not on the edit. Just looks like its been darkened and distorted color wise, the newspaper is to bright but I like what you did with the picture =p

 

Yeah, I like what you did with the newspaper. But it looks like you just darkened it to me... Try to duplicate the image, gaussian blur at a setting at maybe 4.0, then set that layer to Soft Light or Overlay.

 

If you really want to give it a glow ( if thats what your talken about Cody ) Set it to lighten =p

Yes, the newspaper has a very nice effect, and so does the atmosphere. Although, for the women, the hair looks strange, and messy, unclear, and the shirt is sketchy too. A little bit too white.

the news paper and the background is cool but the woman looks weird the shirt and the hair is odd.. so is her skin lol she looks too pixelized but the rest looks cool
