Middleman Problem

Alright so I'm pretty ticked off. I go to find someone to MM for so that I can get some proofs because eventually I want to become an official MiddleMan. (http://sythe.org/showthread.php?p=2534005#post2534005/) So I look in the MiddleMan section for people who need a middleman. Most of them say "Need Official MiddleMan." ...Okay, so how am I supposed to get the needed proofs to become an official MM if no one will let me MM for them because all they want are officials???

This is really beginning to piss me off. Next thing I do is go to where people are selling and buying pins. Figuring, I'd do one of these as my first MM. everyone there says, "Using official MMs only!." Again, ... I'm not exactly sure how I should react to this.

I'm trying to get proofs, I have none currently, but everyone wants an official MM. I'm not official but I can be trusted. No one is willing to let me MM for them. There is a problem here.

People have to be willing to use unofficial MiddleMen. It's the only way any of us are going to be able to achieve official MM.

If anyone could shed some light on the subject, I'd appreciate it. I'm trying my best to find people to MM for and I do have people that trust me. But where I go to look to do some MMs, everyone wants an official.

Just tell me your ideas, if you agree or disagree and whatnot.

Sythe only needs as many officials as traders require; it won't go out of it's way to help you (or anyone) get trades just because they want the title.

That said, many people use unofficials since they're free. This helps new MM's get small trades, and start earning trust. When there aren't enough officials, people will resort to trusted unofficials for large trades. Essentially, people conveniently get their 12m+ done when we need more MM's. The cycle pretty much supports itself.

Though, people really shouldn't be requesting officials in the MM forum. Against the rules, etc.

 

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but it's the truth. No one trusts you. You just joined this month, and have 120 posts. No one uses new MM's. Give it some time, get known around Sythe.

 

That forum is only for people looking for UNOFFICIAL. Why they are asking for official is beyond me. Just goes to show how many people read the stickys >.>

How would you explain Finn and Fouis? They went through the same process as everyone else..

 

Fouis was a mod when he started.

Yup, and whats even MORE funny is when they say officials only and you post, they post "wtf i saidz official only why cant you read" when they cant read the stickies. The irony.....

And as for the TC, you think its easy to become official? Mods get it a little easier, but they have to do 15M+ trades as well as all the hard work they put into getting their position in the first place. I started off the same way as you, and so did MANY other MMs out there. Getting official isnt just, "oh dont scam the trades and itll take me a week." It takes much more then that and you have to build up enough trust to the point where someone rich enough to do a 12M+ trade wants to use you because they trust you, not cause of the 10% fee they need to pay to use official.

 

Edit: On a reread of this thread, I also have to ask, why is this posted as a Suggestion? It's obviously nothing but moaning.

The question you must ask yourself is :
Are traders compelled to use Unofficial Middlemen?

I think not.

Will posting moaning threads such as this one change peoples minds?

I think not.

And, in the Middleman request forum, the vast majority of people are requesting an Unofficial Middleman; otherwise they wouldn't be posting in that forum.

And finally, have you put the 'problem' down to you? Maybe you're not trustworthy.

 

No one cant trust you because you joined this month. And it takes time to become an official middleman of the sythe forums. And I wish you luck to becoming one.
