THIS IS THE "NEW FIRST POST" AS THIS PROGRAM HAS COME THROUGH AN EXTENSIVE CHANGE
People usually land on the first page, so I thought I'd have an up to date content here.

So, what is this all about?

It's a little dev-blog-like-thing, where I post information on new updates for rsKombat. I'm always welcome to feedback.
You think something should be done differently? More efficiently? Just let me know here and I will contact you, and will look into it.

When it comes to rsKombat, well it's a little bit of everything, combat-wise : )

Most important thing to remember here: Everything is bound to a key: tab switching, special attack bar, mage spells, prayer and attack styles, etc. Also, another notable feature is autoswitching capabilities! You record a build (set of items), bind it to a key - and start switching! Items will be found in inventory regardless of their position. Easy to setup and use. We'll cover that later.
There's also a thing I call action-chain, which is a list of actions that are bound to ONE (any) key. You can have unlimited actions. Actions can be recorded builds, clicking special attack bar, prayers, spells, any item recorded, etc.​

I know people use them, but how many people do? Do you?
I did develop one few weeks ago, but forgot about it. Now I found the folder and was thinking of finishing it, as I did develop it for many work-weeks.

^ NOTE: was playing on old laptop(lag-ish clicking) - slower switches, but still faster than manual.
There are actually many small "cherries" in this program, not noted in above feature list, but they really add to UX.

I can FOR SURE say, that there isn't anything like this on the market.

If I can get a "tester" for an OS-Scape (as it's PK oriented than any other ps), that'll be great. I'll be offering 2*2 + 7 days free evaluation period. What I need is that you'd simply test it and give some feedback/ review it. If the said program works and your happy with it, I will be giving you another 2 days for making a quick video/ gif of you PKing using program's most features- can be 1 fight. If all goes well, extra 7 days for free -- no other requirements, pk as you please

 

Nobody uses auto switchers? I'm impressed.

I'd personally would prefer switching legitimately. But I'm pretty sure alot of people would want this. Gl

 

I like my timing with manual switching, It feels good manually switching. I used an auto switcher for awhile before but it threw off my timing with pking. I didn't enjoy using it personally. Bridders use switchers as it is useful for changing gear. I know some people use auto-spec also but I can just do that manually with good timing.

 

You can google one for free that's what I did

 

Feel like these programs would be harder to learn how to use properly than just practicing your switches until you can do it accurately.

How does it handle if you already have an item equipped and you attempt to equip it?

Ie you switch from whip and kite shield to kite shield and ancient staff, does it have a check for this?

Sorry for such a long delay. I had to concentrate on my exams
Right now I'm writing this program from scratch (started today), with Java and some nice libraries. The environment I programmed in before became too hard to manage with hundreds of lines of code, non-OOP way.
I could've shipped the program, but I would have felt terrible for such bad code - and most likely no updates in future, because of hard maintainability.
Now, with Java, I can accomplish that, and much more! Overt time, I will be adding lots of extra functionalities, making it the #1 pking suite (if there even is any).

First, answering some questions:

The kite would simply stay equipped and whip would be switched to an ancient staff.
Also, the item position does not matter - items can be at any time positioned randomly in inventory - they will still be found by the program.

Yeah, you can get pretty good with enough practicing, but you will never click or think as fast as your CPU. What I, from experience with that program, found out, was that I had so much extra time to concentrate on other aspects better (health, other enemies, opponents strategies/ patterns, etc), which lead to higher chance of survival.

Yeah, there are a few "auto switchers", but the way they work is completely different from mine. They use pre-defined coordinates. Which means if you change item slot, it will not get clicked. And re-positioning the item to match your configuration is simply life or death situation.
Also, I have plans to make clicking randomized (random points in inventory slots - around item center), so it would be even less detectable. Although, it's still pretty hard to detect - because you are still manually doing stuff.

I want to finish the Java-version of it, first

I try to program this at least every other day, but I do have full time work (as a Java developer).
As I will be working on this tens of work-hours, I am going to ask some money for it, too. How much? I don't know, yet. There will be a trial period, for sure. Also, source code will not be released, under any circumstance. Feel free to scan it with hundreds of virus/ malware scanners, monitor programs network traffic, use virtual machines, what ever. Btw, this program can also be started AFTER you log in - so don't be afraid of this program listening your key-strokes or whatever.


Ill be keeping you guys updated by posting added functionalities(to the new platform) as I go, so you can follow the progress.
10.07 - Started a project. Inventory slots can be clicked (by slot number) in client.
Next: I want to make some key-listeners(shortcuts) - check the picture in original post

 

12.07 - As promised, made some key-listeners for Shift+A/S/D (for switching). Also, quick combat/ pray/ mage/ equipment shortcuts.
Overall flow: Double-tap Caps-lock for new build (give it a name and slot numbers the items for switching are on). Shift+A for binding the "build" (i.e. items you are going to switch to) by selecting available one from drop-down list (binds to shortcut Shift+A).
I'm quite happy with the outcome. Switching is quick and crisp. Hope it will hold when I add image searching functionality.

That's how simple I want to keep it. There will be no more windows/ buttons/ etc. In future I even want to get rid of them also, but right now, it's easier to keep and work with them.



Right now it equips items by fixed slot numbers in inventory. Coming up next:

• Find items by sub-images (saved ones, in "builds" folder) from inventory. Shouldn't be hard. I think I already found the library for that.
• Heavy code refactoring needed (can postpone some more - no real idea yet on program architecture/ structure).

So, here's what I have done since last post:

• Finding items by images in inventory
• Ctrl+a, Ctrl+s, Ctrl+d build/ set switching
• Some refactoring done to code - more needed (in future)

Little demo (bear in mind, my laptop is really old - very laggy, as you can see when I drag the input boxes, etc):



I'm really happy with the switching speed. This was one of my biggest concerns when adding the sub-image (item picture) finding functionality.
What I forgot to show in demo, is that you can be on any other tab, after you hit your Ctrl+... key, inventory slot will be selected automatically. Also, other tabs shortcuts are working.
I'm really excited on what future holds. This kind of switcher can be used in so many creative ways. E.x. fast "combo eating", quick teleport, prayer flicking, etc

Things I need to do next:

• More code refactoring and error-checking - yay! ....
• Start looking into screen rotation with WASD-keys

 

Quick new update:
Previously I had to double-press Caps-lock key to start making a new switch/ build (asking for slot numbers and switch/ build name).
Now, I can press Caps-lock once, then hover over items and press Ctrl to save the image of that item (under cursor). This is much more user friendly (and quicker), with one bulky input dialog less, because previously (as seen on my previous post), you had to TYPE IN the slot numbers.
Previous, double-pressing Caps-lock key, method is still working tho

 

Some statistics:

• TOTAL LINES: 605
• SOURCE CODE LINES: 447 (74% out of total)
• COMMENT LINES: 51 (8% out of total)
• BLANK LINES: 107 (18% out of total)

Smooth screen rotation with WASD-keys is harder than I thought... I will look into it more in future.
Right now I need to halt the program, when Runescape window loses focus -- so key bindings won't trigger on other windows.

Off topic: how to edit posts, so I don't have to make two in a row?

 

Update:

• Esc key can be used to PAUSE the program. Tooltip will be used to notify about this.
• Tweaked timing on item switching
• Program can also be used with OS Scape, and potentially other rsps clients (some might need little adjustments -- easy)
• Done some refactoring

TODO:

• Implement expiry/ trial period into the program
• Make instructions/README document

After TODO-s are done, program will basically be a minimal viable product and delivery-ready. I will be giving out limited amount of trials, in the order which they appear under this post.


So reply under this post, if you are interested of trying it out for free (trial/ demo) - would love to see how many people are interested in this kind of program!

Hey, thanks for the interest!
It is 100% written in Java. Before releasing I want to use an obfuscator to scramble up the source, to make it really pain-in-the-ass to steal my code. Also, I will use a converter to change .jar file into an .exe file, because in .jar file, all files (.class) can actually be freely seen and reverse-engineered (or using a decompiler) to make them into source files (.java) again.
As I have written more than half a thousand lines of code, I really don't want any leechers copying my code, injecting crap in it (possibly to steal your passwords) and releasing it under their name, making money. And when password stealing comes out - I will loose all credibility. So try to understand my side of the story
And it's easier for the end user as well - just double click the file.
I will also display a MD5 hash checksum, so people can be sure the program is not tampered with by third parties.
If your concern are viruses or other malware, feel free to scan it with all the anti-... you have. Also, VM's are an option. And as said in an earlier post: You can log in before, you start the program, so monitoring your key presses for your user/ pass is not an option.

Little update:

• Currently supported clients: OS-Scape and original OSRS client
  • Whatever supported client you have open - it is automatically selected

I chose Os-scape, because it's quite popular pking rsps, and also the official osrs client.
Any more clients I should support?

Right now I'm still fiddling around with packaging. There are .DLL files that need to be registered, System properties that need to be set and such, so it will take some time. Hoping to release in a few days.
