    I read somewhere a long time ago that your weapon's bonuses matter the most regardless of whether the weapon is range related or not - it may have changed though, I'd double check on that.

    Your completely right, the cannon accuracy is based off your highest offensive stat.

    It is based off highest offence bonus which doesn't have to be ranged it can be any one of them so just go for maximum offence bonus in a certain one based on stats
