Fastest download speed you got?

well, title explains all, whats the fasest download speed you've gotten? I got 1.8MB a second... On wireless cable

 

I average 2-3mbps on torrents. Most HTTP downloads only give me 400-500kbps because of the servers limits though.

 

not bad..

 

Sometimes ill rock out a 4kb connection mostly its a 1-3kbz. Sometimes I will be able to play diablo smoothly.

 

Wow...dial-up much?

How is it possible to have that fast of a connection and only get 4 kbs?

Even on Dial-Up I only got up to 30kb.

 

I was being sarcastic, Im on broadband lol...

To Boost up your internet Connection on Dial-Up!
For:
WinME Win95 and Win98

To do this click on your start button, then go to Search then open up Dial Up
Networking, then right click on your connection,Go to Properties then where tha modem is located (Tellin you whatt modem you are using) Hit configure, Next click on Connection, and locate tha Advaced button click on it and see where it says Extra Settings Type This:

Then hit apply, then close it out, and disconect from your internet, and then start it back up...your connection speedwill be 5 times more...It made mine boost up from 45,200BPS to 115,200BPS

Right click on "My Computer" then go to "Properties" then go to "Hardware" then go to "Device Manager" then go to "Modems" Then select that tab so it scrolls down, then go to your modem, and right click and go to "Properties" then go to "Advanced" Then in tha box saying "Extra Settings/Extra Initialization Commands" type in that box

then click ok then ok again and exit out of everything, disconect from tha internet and reconnect and you will be connected at a faster speed. you wouold be connected at 42,200KBPS and now your new connection will be 100,200KBPS

 

In that case...no offense but your broadband sucks. I have broadband too.

 

Yeah its not the greatest but it gets the job done for most of my gaming needs. I dont ever lag really .

 

i learned a way to tweak your settings to get a better download speed.

Basically, the site explained it like this
your computer is the straw
the information you are receiving is a thick milk shake

The tweak is like getting a bigger straw


Before the tweak, my download speed was about half that.


One more thing, I forgot to mention -- This is on wireless. Router is about 40 feet from receiver, and going through a few walls

Go there, then go to the tweak test tab. Run the test, and it will Reccomend a TCP setting for your computer. Follow the read me's and stuff, and you should be able to figure it out. It took me about 20 minutes to maximize my speed.

Once you get the tcp editor, if you end up disliking the results after an edit, there is an easy way to reset that. Clear all fields in the tcp editor, and apply and reboot. BOOM, defaults restored. (should not be a problem though)

 

fastest connection i had was 2.1mbp/s

 

Myne was 3mbps but only because my ISP accidently upgraded my internet.
Now its back to 500kbps

 

In ireland i got 2Mb/ps in lithuania i can get 100/mb ps or even 150mb /ps

 

on torrents im 4-5mps

 

im downloading CSS at 45KBS while playing RS and posting on sythe...

and the speedtest result is bullshit.
When I download through limewire or torrents - id get lucky to get 100/200kbps =(
