Account merges to allow for earlier registration dates

I don't think so. Join date isn't that important.

 

Too much work just for a number. Do good business and it won't matter.

 

I don't support, there's no real reason you NEED to make a new account outside of not having access to your old one which is probably your own fault.

 

It does matter though. Perhaps not to you, but to people running businesses, a new join date could severely cripple ones chances to compete against other members. Often times people will opt for those with earlier join dates because it indicates seniority within the market - albeit not always the case.

There have been merges in the past, so I don't see why we shouldn't allow them now; and make it a process. Although merges would be offered to apply the oldest date of registration you possess and have created to your current account. Post-count, Sythe Gold or anything other than your date of registration would not be transferred over.

I support this however, i would not mind if this didn't pass because it may get too complicated and take up valuable staff time.

200$+ donation mark sounds about right to be able to merge accounts

Hmmm I had an account from 2008, that upon googling the name is registered as a guest. I also remember when I joined again the mod that I spoke to just told me to make a new one as something to do with Sythe changing servers lead to a lot of that information being lost iirc.

 

I definitely agree with this. Support because I feel that it would allow evaders to be able to merge accounts.

 

And why do evaders want to merge accounts?

 

If a vader successfully pardons ALL registered accounts get unbanned.
So for someone to have 5 accounts, they can merge all 5 and have a join date of 2007.
Thats why.

 

@Sneaky Fish5 not to mention it makes it easier to ban them if they have 1 account. If they merge 5 accounts, they have 1 account which can be banned rather than all of them.

 

Imo they should have a period of time after they pardon before they can merge, just like changing your username

 

Well still they should be allowed to merge.

 

No support, use the join date that is set up with your current account. The previous join date is irrelevant as you did not make your current account at that join date.

 

The only reason for this suggestion is to increase the e-peen of their current Sythe account via adding a earlier join date.

This sounds like a pain for Admins to handle for a rare situation in which there is no real reason to switch. If you want to switch your Sythe account, go for it; however, we are not going to formalize some right to request a merging of accounts.
