Twitch codes

Does anyone know is there anyway someone can "chargeback" these codes or do anything fraud related to give you negative days? I tried looking for information but didn't really find anything, would like to stock up on them but it just looks to good to be true

 

Not that I'm aware of. You can only use one code per account though and they expire sometime in May.

The codes are part of a free offer for Twitch Prime members, and can be redeemed for one month's membership along with some other RS3 items.

 

This is an excellent question. I was wondering the same thing myself as I saw a lot of them posted on websites for sale. I really don't see any way that someone could charge back a code. First off, they're not very valuable at all. You can get one for someone for 2-3 dollars. Anyone who would risk fraudulent activity for such a worthless code has to be a special form of stupid. And wielding this special form of stupid, I don't see how they would be smart enough to invalidate a redeemed code. There's no way in hell Jagex would have the manpower to track down the true "owner" of a code.

Think of it like an XBL code or an ITUNES gift card. Have you ever heard of anyone being able to charge back a prepaid code? I haven't. I feel like it would take some absurd degree of blackhat knowledge to commit such a thing, if it's even possible. What are the odds that someone not only wields this ability but is offloading a near worthless Runescape prime twitch code? Next to nothing. If they were that well versed in defrauding people, they wouldn't be wasting their time on Runescape codes.

I still think it's an excellent question. I got a few myself for a couple bucks and I wondered the same exact thing.

 

Exactly, and I don't see how one would go about doing that. Even their re-sale value for those that don't want the codes is next to nothing. There would just be no real benefit for someone to invalidate a redeemed code even if they could somehow do it.

Most people selling the codes are likely general Twitch users with prime that have zero use or knowledge of the game and are trying to get a few easy bucks by selling them or giving them away.

If someone is smart enough to invalidate / "chargeback" these codes, I'd like to meet that person lol. Because I just don't see how it's possible.
