No 'counter-scamming'!

Counter-scamming anyone is forbidden. The staff have enough to put up with without dealing with scam reports where people worm their way out of trouble by saying "It was a sting".

If you are scammed, it is a result of your own carelessness, and the staff are NOT obligated to authorize counter-scamming so you can get your money back, why should we suffer through such difficulty dealing with these situations for your mistakes?

I'm not sure why people think they can get away with it, it has long been a admin approval only thing and I'm not so sure we'll reprieve this time... I'm not saying who did it though.

How about this scenario:

As person A is about to trade with person B, he realizes that B is a scammer. Would it be acceptable to just scam the scammer if you can manage to outwit him? If not, supposing you cant find out who it is on sythe, should person A just leave the conversation so some other noob can get scammed?


Also, I was wondering for a while, why cant we start up some service so that if a scammer gets caught or you have solid proof that someone scams over MSN, that email gets frozen. That way, scammers will constantly need to make new ones to keep scamming.

 

^No, you can't scam someone who tried to scam you.

The ONLY time we've ever allowed counter-scams is when it involves taking back money from a scammer, and giving it to the victims. It's only been done when we were 100% sure that the person being counter-scammed was in fact the scammer, and we knew who his victims were. It also isn't a "staff only" luxury, staff have never been allowed to do it at their leisure; only with admin approval for a specific sting.
