no, i dont think we are going to die in 2012 because there is no physical proof of it. wasnt it something about the mayan calender ending? maybe they got lazy and didnt want to do anymore.

They're also funny as hell. If you take a step back, and evaluate them with a bit of common sense, their entire argument falls apart.

Y2K was a material issue, the worry was that man-made machines would begin faulting. This is a spiritual issue, meaning there's no real way to prepare for it. It's also much more abstract. The amount of people who actually believe in this moronic event will just be sitting somewhere humming together, and then they'll make up some stupid excuse when life continues on as usual.

Excatly, everyone alsways has a excuse after they were wrong. That is what eats me up, not that you were wrong, but that you won't accept it. I might pray for 0 seconds though if something does happen... LMAO

    rumor about 2012

Hmm... You believe in Jesus' second coming, but not in what the Mayan calendar, Nostradamus, and even algorithms in the 'Bible Code' predict to be the beginning of the end?
NASA is even predicting that the Sun will reverse it's magnetic polarity due to an end in the current 11-year sunspot cycle, which has been claimed to be linked to the basis of the Mayan calendar.
According to the algorithms in the 'Bible Code' a comet is supposedly going to hit earth in 2012, just like Nostradamus' prediction... This (comet hitting Earth) is believed by many scientists to be a cause for magnetic polarity reversals.
How can all these things, coming from much different times, all be linked (comet hitting earth) just by chance?
On January 31st of 2012, it is expected that 433 Eros, the second largest Near Earth Object on record, will pass by the earth.
Perhaps this is the object that is predicted to collide with Earth...
If this were to happen, Earth's magnetic polarities could switch, which hasn't happened in approx. 780,000 years. Who knows what this could cause...
    Perhaps udder chaos?
    Perhaps nothing.
But can all these predictions, being tied together with the collision of an object with Earth, all be by chance?

I'm not claiming at all that this will happen, I personally think it's all bullshit. I just like to point things out for arguments sake.

If the polarities reversed, we would be without power and many more things for around 2 - 3 months, says my science teacher.

    Thats a lie.

The mayan calendar ended when we were in like 2005-2006 (2012 in their time).

    Not the Long Count calendar....
Also, even if this were true, it's not just the Mayan's that predicted this shit... That's what nobody is realizing.

See, that may be the start of chaos, leading to the apocalypse. But maybe it won't do shit if the polarities reverse. Nobody knows because it hasn't happened in approx. 780,000 years...

    Edit :
Anyone who believes in the Nibiru BS needs to think about it... Not even thoroughly, just think...
If this were true, which it's not, and somehow some random ass planet that has never been documented, has an orbit right in between Earth and the Sun (without ever colliding into Venus or Mercury) that is so large that it only comes around once every 3,000 something years....
That alone is a fucking stretch to say the least... Now for the other BS...
Supposedly it stops the Earth's rotation when between the Earth and Sun.
This is impossible on so many levels... The Earth can't just randomly cease rotation, (and how the fuck would a passing planet cause something like this?!) for if it did, that would be the end of GRAVITY, people... Let's just go out on an imaginary trip to imagination land (we have to sing the imagination song) and say that it could happen. It wouldn't be able to regain rotation... Assuming this planet DOES exist, and it somehow DOES have such an ovular path of revolution that it only passes by every 3,000 something years... It still wouldn't be able to do anything that these idiots claim. It's not possible. It would have passed and stopped our rotation so many times by now that we wouldn't exist.
