The Dutch goverment wants to ban mushrooms

I will just tell this in my own words.
The dutch goverment wants to ban the so-called magic mushrooms (dutch: paddo's), because some people (who really shouldn't have taken those drugs) comitted suicide. A couple of weeks ago, a french girl jumped off a bridge in Amsterdam when she had eaten shrooms.
I personally find it unnecessary because if you look at the statistics:

Dead by drinking and driving: 135
wounded: 2600
Deads by accidents (normal ones): 30
Deads by cancer, provoced by alcohol: 1500-2300
Deads by liver deceases: 594
Deads by addiction and mental disortions: 1200
TOTAL: 3500 on average a year

and thats only alcohol.

Smoking, harddrugs, etc. make more casualties.
Those magic mushrooms only killed like 5 people in the past few years, and it's mostly their fault, because they didn't use it properly. Besides, mushrooms aren't addictive either!

What do you think, should mushrooms be banned or not?

I say: no, not that I use them, it's just part of being dutch, it's part of the dutch culture, weed and mushrooms.

 

If people have died from it in the past years, then ofcourse it should be banned.

Are we talking about mushroom the food? Or is it some sort of drug?
Anyways as I just wrote, it should be banned, since no one is in need of it and it is not relevant in anyway.

 

I've done shrooms a few times and tripped and i never lost controll of what i was doing there was no reason she shoulda caused suicide are anyone else who have died from them they were just being stupid and not responsible and shouldnt be doing them in the first place but i do not think they should be banned thats my oppion

 

Who cares if they take it, if they want to something bad to themselves then let them take it..

why isn't alcohol banned then? it obviously its one of the most accident prone substance that is legal.

 

Yes it should be banned, but then again, it's the person who chooses to do the drugs.

Is the mushrooms food that could kill you if taken heavily or is a drug? It shouldn't be banned lol.. ITS A MUSHROOM!! Super Mario would like laik dead without them.
Anyway, yeah, if its a drug-type thing then yes. If not, no. Who gets addicted to mushrooms *Rolls Eyes*

 

That's stupid.. just like marijuana should be legal if alcohol is legal (in the United States.) When have you ever heard of someone being killed under the influence of weed. Whenever they try to pin bud on an accident, the driver was also drunk.

 

A little dramatic if a girl jumped off a cliff because she was high why blame the mushrooms?

 

you shurely don't know what magic mushrooms do?
They are not addictive, nor can you OD.
It's the hallicinant chemical inside that makes you see, hear, feel and believe weird, funny or scary stuff

Its the person that takes it that can decide if its smart or not. people with (mental) problems should never ever take them. And some people are so stupid to combine them with alcohol.
