Can Someone Please Help Me?

Hey i wanna check to see if i have a dynamic ip and from what i've been told if you restart your modem and you then have a different ip, then you've got a dynamic ip. BUT what happens when i restart it? Like whats the difference between turning it off and restarting the modem? I won't have to like set it up or anything if i restart it will i? I just don't wanna restart it then find out that i've just screwed it up or something =\. If someone could please help me on this topic it would be greatly appreciated.

 

2. Request a new IP address from your ISP server.

Here's how to do it in windows:
1. Click Start
2. Click run
3. In the run box type cmd.exe and click OK
4. When the command prompt opens type the following. ENTER after each new line.
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
exit

5. Erase your cookies in whatever browser you are using.
6. New ip

Frequently you will be assigned a new IP address when this happens. Sometime you will, sometimes you will not. If you are on a fixed IP address, this method will not work. To be honest, I do not know how to do this in linux/unix/etc. If this works for you, you may want to save the above commands into a batch file, and just run it.

 

At Jagex we are always here to help are fellow members. If you plug out your cable modern it will change your ip address and leave it off for a while. Or you can contact your ISP server.

If you have a dynamic one its should reset once you reset your modem, Keep it off for about 5 mins.

 

Well if you unplug it right away and back in... the ip wont change sometimes. Plug it out for like 5-10 minutes in the back and if you have dsl those cables to. Then plug them back in later and leave computer off for a little bit.
