Breakdowns in that type of metal all sound the same. Same palm muting open string breakdowns, and in most hardcore bands they add in some crappy sounding high pitched bend in it, if you hear one you've definitely heard them all.

I've probably listened to breakdowns tantamount to the length of your whole music library.
I know what I'm talking about. Name any sub-genre of metal, I've listened to it. Emo bands using breakdowns to try to sound heavy makes them what they are. Fake.

it takes a lot of talent... a lot of people listen to it, although in my opinion the guitars sound bad in it even though it takes a lot of skill to play metal because of how fast they must play. why, do you listen to cRAP?

I'll "indulge" in whatever I please, but no matter what kind of breakdown I hear, it's still going to be all the same. There is no differentiating any breakdown in metal, they're all structured the same, but with different tones and/or tunings.

 

Anyone with the name br00tal shouldn't really have an opinion on what good metal is. As far as breakdowns go most metalcore ones sound all the same and there wasn't breakdowns in hardcore till the 90's. My favorite breakdowns are definitely in Mongoloids songs, they have some great songs to dance to.
