tokyo ghoul - should i start the manga from the beginning or na?

since tokyo ghoul season 3 aint coming out any time soon i might as well just find out what happens through the manga. Never read manga before and was wondering if i should start from the beginning or end of season 2.

what would you guys recommend i heard the manga is a little different so thats kinda tempting me to start over.

also just in case if i am going to be carrying on from the end off season 2 can someone let me know what chapter that would be in the manga? pls nd ty

 

the manga is actually very similar to the anime imo, at least season 1 was. season 2 is very different but same concepts, however the ending is where the manga and season 2 is different, in the manga

kaneki gets captured and is killed by like the strongest ghoul hunter

whereas in the anime he turns himself in.

iirc there is a whole different novel for the new season 3,called tokyo ghoul:re, where kaneki has his memories wiped and is a new species for the ghoul hunters where they use their own blood weapon things to hunt down other ghouls. I want to say the end of where season 2 should end is like (off the top of my head so dont quote me) chapter 143 or 147, its one of those, might have to go back a few chapters to see kaneki fighting the guy.

but i would start at the beginning and just skip if you remember the parts, thats what i do, imo the manga just goes in-depth in his relationships and training as a ghoul.
