i've just accepted coins at banks and have never had any problems

 

Some people prefer to be similar in combat levels and stake the gold over in world 2, duel arena. Also, if you are just trading, but up a few random items so it doesn't look like they are just handing you a huge coin stack when you have never interacted before.

 

Never had a problem with it and ive bought alot just dont tell anyone..

 

Buying gold has a virtually zero percent ban rate.

The only things to watch out for are scammers (use trusted users/websites with large donor ranks)

Safest way to purchase I would recommend to just trade and throw in different items. Staking is actually risky and there have been a lot of problems with it.

To avoid getting banned, just make sure you're not buying from some random chinese gold farming/sketchy website.

Make sure to be purchasing the gold on a played on RS account. A fresh tutorial island level 3 with no quest points, skills, or trades will get flagged.

I'm assuming you're not buying over 1b+

At higher rates the users/websites will help you with those transactions to avoid bans.

 

First of all, refrain from using staking etc. unless you're dealing in huge quantities of gold. As long as you're buying/selling every now and then a few millions (>50m-100m I'd assume) you should be fine. Go with trusted websites always, avoid sketchy people and don't advertise it. I've been buying/selling small quantities (2m-40m) for about 6 months and I haven't had any problems yet. Just keep a low profile.

What I don't understand is this middleman, why would I pay someone else instead of paying the seller directly? It makes no sense.

 

its incase you don't trust the seller.
If you think the seller is untrustworthy, you can use a middleman to make sure the trade goes safely. There are lots of them who middleman trades for free.

I would reccomend just buying gold from a website though

 

+1 I agree. Unless seller is highly trusted, just purchase from a website in order to avoid scams/problems.

In 2009/2010/2011 I probably sold xxxB of gold and never had an issue. in the past 6 months or so I've done around a bil osrs/4b RS3, no issues. you're probably fine.

 

if you really want a 100% 0 ban rate get a vpn create a lvl 3 account take the gold in trade and drop trade it to your main in the wildy it instant appears the accounts will never had touched interacted or have the same ip. you could also use a vm for different hardware id on the account. I personally use a VM with firewall settings set so my internet doesn't work unless im on the vpn so my ip will never leak when im dealing with buying and selling gold. i have never been banned or had anyone i have sold gold to be banned before ever
