tX-Bot: A Runescape Bot

Current Status: Recruiting Development Team Members

What are we looking for?

• Experienced programmers. (not necessarily Java)
• Programmers that are willing to learn.
• People who work well in a team, and contribute easily.
• People with distinct abilities in the field of mathematics.
• Logical thinkers.

If you fill in all of the above roles, you are a candidate for our project's development team. A preferred combined total of 5 members would be nice, but we will work with what we can get.

Why are we looking for people?

• Designing a project of high magnitude by yourself is VERY tedious.
• We realize people get distracted, as SMR and I have had our fair share of distractions while coding.
• The more, the merrier.
• If we can find a few people of equal programming knowledge, designing a BCEL-engine bot will be a lot easier.

What are our expectations of people accepted on the team?

• You MUST contribute at least 1 function / portion of code per one completed by the dev-team , until it is a complete project. This is done as both a learning experience, and the idea that things will only get done if the people behind it do work. Slacking is not welcome.
• You must maintain a decent reputation on Sythe.org or some other large programming website.
• You must have a good attitude.
• You must have knowledge of one major programming language, and willingness to learn Java.
• You must maintain good use of English, or German.

Project Specifications/Goals

• Written in Java, implementing the Java Bytecode-Engineering Library to invoke certain programmer defined functions in the game 'Runescape'.
• Minimize each invoke to its own file to allow for easy scripting.
• Document each invoke to allow for easy scripting.
• Protect and maintain the source of the bot itself.
• Allow for user-made invokes to expand the bots' capabilities.

I'm willing to learn, come to think of it, i'm doing Java atm.

But i will need some teaching

 

You'd be on the same page as all of us, we're learning as we go.

Indeed, I forgot I had that open as well

 

I'm wondering the reason for it being named tX bot...

It's a nice name, but is it based on the name tilex ?

If so, maybe it should be re-named? If this is going to be a big community project, it shouldn't be focused on one person, seeing as many contributed.

Just some thoughts. I may be wrong. tX may stand for something completely different and community focused, which would make me look a bit silly =P

 

It has no acronym as of now, I wanted a filler name so that the recruiting post looked more complete.

It sort of has an ix-bot ring to it.
