How to catch your "Anonymous Hacker"

Very simple, Temporarily Redirect the entire forums (move them), stick a shit load of DXV and IP Trackers on the real forums, when the next time your "Anonymous Hacker" Hacks again you have him right in your trap and you will know how he is managing to Breach the forums.

Im no FPS expert but that is what i would do.

We arent getting hacked. We are getting DDosed which is completely Different.

 

Ahh i didn't know that from before, isn't it still possible to redirect the forums so when they are attacking, they are attacking the wrong server?

EDIT: I believe that is what myspace does to avoid attacks and downtime.

 

Possibly but eventually they will find the right one and keep doing the same thing.

 

Possibly take out 10 minutes once a week to change the FPS host redirect and even if they do figure it out it will take them a while to figure out it got changed again, and i do believe if you keep changing the redirect, it saves ALOT of down time and Trouble, alot easier than having to fuck with it every hour.

 

That would take too long, but it's a good idea. The DDoser will eventually be caught, I hope...

 

DDOSed and hacking are two different things. HAcking is abusing technology making it work to your advantages and requires skill. DDos attacks require nothing but the nkowhow and luck of a monkey.

And it will still work i support the idea however The Admins wont take it up.

 

It won't work, because DNS would take up to 48 hours to complete, and so some users would get the forum, other wouldn't, thus making a big mess. Plus, they couldn't have a 24/7 offline and re-directing forum, so it would have to stay still a while too. Besides, a simple script can detect where a site is being redirected to and then update all infected comps (probably on an IRC net) with the new host. The only way is to hope whoever is DDoSing sythe to either stop or reveal their IP. There really isn't too much else to do...
