This was an email my sister sent to my mom after she had saved a Seargant's life, I'm pretty fucking proud of her but man I am missing the shit out of my big sis.

RIP said:

I'm doing ok today. The images of seeing him on fire and trying to get his clothes off and another soldier jumping on top of him and another putting him out with a fire extinguisher are finally starting to fade away. I think my mind knows that I have to detach myself from this so it is putting it in the back of my mind. It sucks because he's not here anymore and I feel kind of alone. He was my big protector, he always took care of me. It's like all of us have a bond now that we all went through that together. People keep coming up to me and saying they heard I kicked some ass. The commander comes up to me every day and tells me he's proud. Snider (my little brother #2) keeps walking to my CHU to see if I'm ok or to see if I want to go to the chow hall and eat with him. Everyone shows support and asks me how I am doing. SGT Rogers was his roomie and now he has to inventory all of his stuff and pack it up. He has to fill in and figure out how to do his job he left behind. I saw
the truck after they put the fire out- nothing left. I saw his vest and it was all burnt and torn apart. I saw his boots and pants I had to cut off of him because they were still on fire. It is definitely hard. But I think I am doing a lot better. It will get better over time. I love you mom. I really do.

Wow. That's very sad. =[ Really, really sad, if I knew how it felt. Things like these should make us appreciate what we have in life still. She seemed very nice.
