The Docks

We have two docks in the Fishing Guild. Both of these docks contain fishing spots for Lobster, Swordfish and Tuna fishing spots, and Sharks.

On these two docks there are approximately eight Lobster, Swordfish and Tuna fishing spots fishing spots, and six Shark fishing spots.

The Fishing Skillcape

Those extremely skilled fishers who have reached level 99 have one more option here. You are able to go and talk to the Master fisher, and if you wish to, pay 99k to receive a prized skill cape. The skill cape is a symbol of having 99 in fishing.

Random Events

When fishing watch out for random events such as Whirlpool and ********
When fishing a Whirlpool can appear, if you still fish in the same spot, it will **** in your fishing equipment and you will need to buy a new one.
******** will jump up, take your fishing item and spit it out up on the shore. It will appear close to you.

River Trolls

These Trolls attack you when you're fishing. They are very dangerous, because usually there are so many people on the fishing dock you cannot tell who is receiving damage.
Levels range from 14, 15, 20, 45, 47, 120, to 159. Item drops include Fishing bait 5-25, any saltwater fish tuna-shark, feathers, oysters (3), caskets, bones, and fishing equipment.

Evil Bob

While training fishing, Evil Bob may appear and teleport you to ScapeRune. There you will have to feed him some fish that he likes in order to leave and get back to RuneScape. By the way this can be a very anoying randon!!

Fishing Net

Notes:
You need Fishing level 1 to start to fish with a Small Fishing Net.
You can fish with a Small Fishing Net in: Catherby Shore, Karamja Dock, Draynor Village, and (members-only) Lumbridge Swamp cave/dungeon.
This is what you can catch with Small Fishing Net: Shrimp, Anchovies, Frog spawn (members-only) , and Monkfish (members-only after completing the Swan Song quest).

Fishing Rod

Notes:
You need to have Fishing bait when you are Fishing with Fishing Rod. If you don't you will not catch any Fish. Lowest fishing level to catch any fish with it is 5.
You can fish with Fishing Rod in: Catherby Shore, Karamja Dock, Draynor Village, Ardougne River, Lumbridge River, Barbarian Village, Al-Kharid, Shilo Village, north side of the Seer's Village Lake, (members-only) Mort Myre Swamp, and (members-only) Lumbridge Swamp cave/dungeon.
This is what you can catch with Fishing Rod and Bait: Sardine, Herring, Pike, (members-only) Slimey eel, and (members-only) Cave eel.

Fly Fishing Rod

Notes: You need feathers when you are Fishing with Fly Fishing Rod (feathers can be bought for 3gp in Fishing Stores). Lvl 20 Fishing needed to start to fish with this tool.
You can fish with Fly Fishing Rod in: Ardougne River, Lumby River, Barbarian Village, and north side of the Seer's Village Lake.
This is what you can catch with Fly Fishing Rod: Trout and Salmon

Big Fishing Net

Notes:
You can catch some items too: Caskets, Seaweed, Gloves, Boots and Oyster. To start to fish with Big Net you need 16 Fishing.
You can fish with Big Fishing Net in: Fishing Guild and Catherby Shore
This is what you can catch with Big Fishing Net: Caskets, Seaweed, Gloves, Boots, Oyster, Mackerel, Cod and Bass.

Harpoon

Notes:
To start to fish with a Harpoon you need 35 Fishing
You can fish with Harpoon in: Fishing Guild, Catherby Shore, Piscatoris Fishing Colony, Karamja Dock and Brimhaven
This is what you can catch with a Harpoon: Tuna, Swordfish and Shark

Barbed-Tail Harpoon

Notes: all of the above apply. The only difference is thsi will help fishing with a harpoon faster.

Lobster Pot

Notes:
To catch Lobster you need level 40 Fishing or higher.
You can fish with a Lobster Pot in: Fishing Guild, Catherby Shore, Karamja Dock and Brimhaven
You can only catch Lobsters with a Lobster Pot.

Trawler Fishing Mini-game

Notes:
You need 50-60 Swamp paste, a Bailing bucket, and 6-10 Rope (for net repairs) in order to Trawler fish. It's most fun if you go with a group of friends, though it makes the game harder. If the Trawler sinks you will not die, nor will you lose any of your stuff. Just climb aboard a Barrel (keep trying until you find one that works) and you will automatically swim for the shoreline below Port Sarim, and take about 3-5 hp damage.
You can fish with a Trawler Net in: Port Khazard
This is what you can catch with it: Any saltwater fish up to your fishing level; assorted items such as Seaweed that are obtained by Big net fishing; this is the only way for high level fishermen to catch Sea Turtles and Manta Rays

Oily Fishing Rod

Notes:
The Oily Fishing Rod is NOT tradeable. It is only used in Hero's Quest for catching Lava Eel.
You fish with Oily Fishing Rod in Taverley Dungeon.
You can only catch Lava Eels with Oily Fishing Rod.
