Techs Basic Obby Mauler Guide!

Welcome to my obby mauler guide. For all of you that don't know what an obby mauler is, it's a low level account with either 1,5 or 20 attack and 60+ strength. Some of them also have range but i will go over that later on in the guide.

--Choosing a name--

Most maulers make it pretty obvious that they're obby by having a name such as "B0rn T0 M4ul" etc. But really it's up to you what you want to have as your name just make sure that your 100% certain you like it because you don't want to find that you've spend lot's of time, effort and money on a pure whos name you don't like!

--What you need--

Note: Take out all of the range gear e.g arrows, cps etc if your not planning on using it.

1x Iron Scimmy
1x Steel Scimmy
1x Mith Scimmy (If you decide on getting 20 attack)
1x Full Iron (No Shield Needed)
1x Strength Ammy
1x Power Ammy

I won't go into how much food, arrows, runes you'll need because im not quite sure so i just buy a quantity making sure that you buy salmon as your food until you get higher and then move onto lobsters.
I suppose that really it's up to you what you wear/equip but in my opinion the above items are essentials!

--1-20 Strength--

Get your iron scimmy, steel scimmy, (mith scimmy if your going for 20 attack aswell) and head other to the one of the chicken houses and train your strength and attack to 5 with your iron scimmy. Then move onto the cows att either lumbridge or crafting guild. I recommend the crafting guild because it's less crowded. Now lets have a look at your stats...

Attack: 5
Strength: 20
Defense: 1 (This will always be one)

Range: 1
Mage: 1

--20-40 strength and 40 range(if your using) and 25 mage--

Now with your steel scimmy and head other to the monks at the monastery. At first they hit you quite often and if this is the case then go and talk to abbot langley in the south-east corner of the monastery, He can heal you for about 7hp i think. If oyu get bored of the monks you can head back to the crafting guild because those cows still make pretty good xp at your level. On the other hand you can head other to stronghold of security and train your strength on the minotaurs there, i little bit of food is recommended. Now you got 40 strength head other to varrok and buy yourself about 1k of earth,water,body runes(NOTE: If you dont already have 3 mage go talk to the magic tutor who will give you free air/mind runes!). Now head back to the minotaurs and use confuse/weaken/curse on the ones that are being attack by other players. You should probably go to a fuller a world where tere are more people but not to full otherwhys they kill the monsters before you can curse them! Now do this till you have 25 mage get yourself some arrows and train your range to 20 at the chickens in lumby and the cows at crafting guild. Now lets have a look at your stats...

Attack: 5 (or 20)
Strength: 40
Defence: 1

Range: 20
Mage: 25

--Finishing off your obby pure--

Now if your not already is the best time to become a member so you can train at rock crabs for more xp. Get yourself a full inv of lobs and have a steel scimmy equiped and head up north from seers village to where the rocks crabs are. Train your str to 60 here. You might want to bring cammy tabs for quick food restocking! Now get your range up to 40 and your mage up aswell if you want.

Now you've got...

Attack: 5
Strength: 60
Defence: 1

Range: 40
Mage: 25+

Go get yourself an obby maul soldier!

i accidentally got 2 atk on my mauler shud i now just get 5 atk for the sake of it cos i was always told that maulers were 1 atk+ def and 60+ str

 

To be honest it's kinda better to have 5 att anyway. With steel scimmy you hit harder and get faster xp so yes just get 5 attack.

Ok, I just like to say that some people have commented and Pm'ed me saying that theirs not enough detail on training so i'm currently working on a new thread "_-~ The Road Of A Mauler ~-_" So if you just stick tight i'll publish that which will focus more on how to train and will have more detail and some pics to even!
