Its mainly ppl that are to lazy to keep running to the bank. I found this out when going for 90 herb on my skiller and I decided to stop at 85 and sell the rest of my stuff ppl payed 200 ea for water vials

 

In Keldagrim (the dwarf city), there is a general store that sells vials very near to a bank. I just used lunar spells to fill them up later. It took probably less than 30 minutes to get 1k vials. Pretty cool, eh?

 

If you got 14M than i suggest you merchant dragon chains , I made 2m in 1 hour its the most profit i've made out of all the items i merchanted.

Cow hides? Buy 100 each, then sell for 150-170, unless you have enough to merch trimmed armours, or rares. But since your trying to make money i'm guessing your not that rich. So yeah, cow hides are what i'd say.
