Obby or Granite Mauler?

Hey, in conjunction with training my long term, high leveled pk'er I would like to create a reasonably quick pk'er. Nothing ownage or anything, but something fun!

So, with that in mind, i've decided on one of two things. An Obby Mauler and a Granite Mauler. Both have there advantages and disadvantages.

This is what I've got for advantages
Obby:
Should be quick to train, 60 strength is pretty easy to get.
Low level, high hits
Rare-ish

Granite Mauler:
High hits
Low level
50 attack, 65-70 strength or so should work nicely.
if I do die, cheap to replace the item.

Now, I'm leaning towards the Obby Mauler slightly, as it'd be quite cool to own one. That, and they go for a nice price if I ever got bored of it.

But, i'm just not sure if they own that much, and if I would need to train something like range as well. I'm really not looking forward to have to train range to 70+. It's boring.

So, I'd really appreciate your opinions on what I should do. Also, if you have any other suggestions on pures, I'm quite open to it. What I'm thinking of is whatever I decide to do, get 59 magic first so I can pk members, it's lame rewards at that level, but reasonably fun.

 

obby mauler is much more nicer then a g mauler
and obby mauler can be 38-42 with 60 str but if u do a obby mauler u should get range 60-70
g mauler are good because of the spec
and much simpler to train then obby maulers

so obby maulers got the nice little combat with 20-28 hits
but g mauler got a very nice spec that can do 30-30 that means u nearly take all of hes/she hp

 

if I go Granite maul, I'd most likely get 60 mage. Blast 'em once (or twice) with zammy flames and then BAM with a maul hit + two specs. Should own them nicely.

But, with a Granite mauler what strength level would I need before being able to pk effectively?

Also, remember I'm a No Honour Pk'er now. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

 

g mauler is better because of quicker kills...and when u finish pking normally u can do some 3 hitting and poon. my vote is for g mauler

 

But the main thing with g maulers, is getting pjed by g maulers, you get a kill and ur instantly dead,

with obby mauler he can be like 40 combat 70+ str and cannon his range up and he should be extremeeeeeeeeee

 

G mauler is better imo. Obby maul hits good too rarely.. Maybe if u pk with zerker necklace its better, but that'd be madness

 

obby mauler first....then after a little pking go to g mauler =p thats what i did.

 

G maul because all you do is hit them once then spec and there dead. I vote g maul easy and quick kills

 

g maulers are so much fun especially when you get blitz u can just kill most people ide say start as an obby mauler then go g maul style when high str

 

Obby maulers are personnaly not my favorite, I believe granite are much better due to the specs. 82mage, 70 str and 50 attack are amazing for pjing

 

g maul is better, you 3hit people quite often, if you got 31 pray, you should get pray, cuz u need highest maxhit at lowest hp lvl, and lowest cb lvl.

 

G Maul is better then obby, depending on what stats you get on them both..

Obby mauler would be, iron scimmy till low health and hope for a nice 25+ with obby maul.. :\

G Mauler would be, rune scimmy till low health and pull g maul, 3 hits and k0.

Training wise, the G mauler is faster.. Because you wouldn't be hitting much on a 1 attack..

I'm creating a Gmauler atm

Quite easy to train, you can use quests etc.

I'm gonna blitz too, so 82 mage atm is being a bit of a hastle but am at 77.

i'm assuming that 50 att and 70 - 80 str would be easier to train/quest
than 70 - 80 str.

 

in the end it all comes down to your favorite pking style i have an obby mauuler that i love using (1 att 82 str) but sometimes i wished i could g maul. also g maul u got quests to do for climb boots, dt, etc. i'd say if you're making a


g mauler 50 att, 70+ str, 82 mage,13 prayer (ice blitz/g maul spec)
advantages; easier training, spec, cheap
disadvantages; lower hits, more quests



obby maul; 1 att, 70+ str, 31 prayer, (ranged/maul, or straight maul is effective also)
advantages; high hits, high hp,
disadvantages; expensive (zerker necklace is essential), slow hits

plan if you want a high hp g mauler;
start obby mauler up to about 70 str with 1 att, (hp should be 60 thru normal training) keep 1 prayer, do reqs for dt (13 prayer from quest) do dt,
get 50 att and 82 mage your cmb should be around 55-57 (i actually thought about doing this but im 31 prayer on my obby mauler)

 

Granite maulers are amazing because of the specs. Obby maulers have a reasonable K0 power but their max isnt that special unless you have some very expensive gear. Obby maulers are good for low attack, high str, high def staking.

 

Obby mauler, Is faster and hits much higher.

and btw I'd go with granite. I've got a guy now with 40 atk 72 str 1 def 1 pray I'm working on.

I can't decide what I want to do yet. I'm kinda thinking 60 atk 80 str 40 def and really high range. Tank.

 

Oby maulers own everyone with their low combat, But they need to be used right .

 

Get granite mauler, much more fun imo
