    Will we ever go there?

Do you think we'll will ever make it out of our galaxy in a manned flight within 100 years?

It bugs me, watching all the high tech movies when they can go warp speed and go so far into space.

I personally think our space age is going to boom within 20 years.

Reason: Tons of new private space operations other than NASA that are going to start building space vehicle's.

I hope to get a chance to go on a vacation in space or even be on a ship that is exploring new worlds.

Flying cars don't appeal to many.

Too many people will get in wrecks.

I think it would cool to be on a ship that went exploring the unknown.

No point in having the person in there if they can't do anything.

    We wouldn't do that.

We need to just find a new engine, as in, an engine that go can or go close to.... the speed of light

Galaxy, heck no. Its alot bigger than you think. The Galaxy is about 100,000 lightyears wide.
    Qoute:
Thank you for your question. Our Milky Way galaxy is a pretty typical large galaxy. Most of the stars are in a disk that is about 100,000 light years across in diameter and 3000 light years thick. Most of the galaxies in the universe are actually smaller than the Milky Way. For example, most of the dozens of galaxies in our Local Group are at least ten times smaller in diameter.

-- Michael Loewenstein and David Marsden for "Ask an Astrophysicist"

    Word for Word from: http://imagine.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/ask_astro/answers/001205a.html

Ill do the math for you:
    -100,000 lightyears
I year is 365 days, duh
Light travels at 186,000 miles per hour approximately.
    24 hours=1 day
    365 days= 1 year
    100,00 light years

Conclusion: My math may be wrong, but i got that our galaxy is roughly 30,859,000,000 miles wide.

So, no, we will not get out of our galaxy any time soon.

    Sorry :(

I don't think so. We also over estimate out tech level. For example, people in the 18th century thought the 21st century would be invading other planets or things like that, and we aren't. We(As in the human race) fight to much with each other to make some real advances.

    Will we ever go there?

This is a crazy idea, but do get into the space age, we need to stop the wars and ect.

Eventually, maybe the entire planet would be totally united, as in one country, one planet.

And I think we will be out of our galaxy within 700 years, maybe sooner.

The biggest problem we have to overcome is speed.

Right now we can go 20,000 mph in a shuttle.

That would take us for ever to reach the end of our solar system.

We need to get an engine, a warp engine, one that can go about, the same, or faster than the speed of light.

It would be very hard to do but if it was achieved we could go so much farther
