Irc Ban Dispute Forum

I have suggested this before, as this topic suggest the Irc forum is being flooded with ban appeals,

This is getting really anoying we want to have some intelligent and proper discussion there without having 50 users complaining about bans.

My suggestion:

Just add a subforum for ban appeals etc.

 

Whats there to talk about in that forum?

Well Nearly everyone says that the section should be for discussing things that happen in the irc, Say theres a debate between something . Someone can start a poll and everyone can spamm it up like everywhere else..

Nothing goes on there. I see a couple threads advertising channels, and some threads about irc abuse. I don't see why we need another forum for disputes.

 

or, better yet, make it an infractable offence to bitch about the irc bans on sythe, because :
Sythe != IRC
^^For those of you who know nothing of mIRC script, that's saying "Sythe is not equal to IRC"

Lol this is a bad idea, you'll eventually get unbanned and a forum about ppl moaning about why they got banned aint any good

This probably wouldn't work, as most of the more authoritative figures on sythe.org aren't so powerful on the IRC.

Clashfan has power here, whereas Resident - who is banned - has more power than Clashfan on the IRC, for example.

 

What if your banned? How do you do it then

 

Anything that happens in the IRC has nothing to do with Sythe, plus You need to contact Filefragg or Curt.

 

Maybe a sticky should be made in irc forum, About appealing bans etc who to add and who to contact.

 

If I were to create a thread and sticky it for IRC Ban Disputes, it would cut down so much on the spam in that IRC lounge. Nothing formal... just state why you were banned, and most of the time you're unbanned 2 minutes after you were banned... but for the sake of the IRC lounge, I think this should happen. When clash gets on today, I'll ask him, and if he approves I'll create the thread and sticky it.
