Binge watching Shameless

seriously a great show, feel like I just discovered a new and better Weeds. There's enough characters to keep the show interesting for awhile I'm sure, and it's on Netflix so there's full on nudity

 

This seems like the move

 

Started this last night. As someone who has watched Weeds two times over, I'm interested to see if Shameless ranks higher than it for me. I see potential, but it's also hard to see where this show is going to go. Seems a bit directionless at the moment. To be fair that's like every show in the first few episodes.

 

Binged this just a few weeks back, it's pretty funny. It gets kinda frustrating though, a lot of the episodes are about the main characters making the same fuck ups over and over again. Many unbearable characters as well.
Overall 7/10 for me, but will definitely watch the upcoming seasons.

I watched the plot and couldn't really get into it, even though I loved Weeds with a passion. Lucifer is my type of humor and I binge watched the shit out of that recently.

Interesting. Her character is annoying yeah I agree. Anyone on the show you find attractive then?

 

Not as of season 1 I don't find any of them that attractive, granted I'm sure she gets better looking from season 1 as later pictures I've seen of her she doesn't look too bad. I don't find her attractive in S1 at all. There was a huge debate about it at work to day LOL. I quickly learned people either love her or hate her. I've only watched a few episodes.

Oh and I totally agree with the rest that you said as well. It's funny but it seems redundant and directionless to a degree.

 

I'm onto Episode 6 of Shameless and so far I rate Weeds higher, especially the early seasons of Weeds. I'm not seeing a character here as funny as Kevin Nealon (Doug).

 

Dude no way can you rate weeds higher. Weeds was great for a few seasons and then just got repetitive. Shameless literally just keeps getting better and better

 

Well that's what remains to be seen from my perspective. The first 3 ish seasons of Weeds were really good. And Doug + Andy were able to carry the show when it got pretty redundant. I'll see if Shameless gets better & better. So far S1 I rate lower than the first seasons of Weeds.

 

I can see you feeling that way about season one. It takes a little while to develop as many characters as there are in Shameless. Takes a few seasons before you get deeply engrossed in the characters.

My favorite show ever is still the Sopranos.

 

I'm starting to believe, this shits getting addicting.

I just like defending Weeds because I feel like, while it probably went on way too long, few shows gave me as many laughs as Weeds did.

Great news with Shameless is that even if an episode is sputtering, I'm guaranteed to laugh my ass off at at least a few scenes.

I cant wait to see how much better this gets. I'm going to try to watch sparingly but I can already tell in 2 weeks I'll be done all 6 seasons.

 

I binged watched it all in like 6 weeks man, worst mistake of my Netflix career. I honestly have seen most all major series and have been most impressed with Shameless. Above Boardwalk Empire even.

Dude Micky is the shit. At first you hate his ass but then he becomes one of the best characters. I'm halfway through season seven

 

It's a decent show. Gets to be pretty predictable pretty early in however.

 

I have to agree with this, so far at least. It has some nice twists but the overall feel of the show isn't really complex to me. It's good but in a brainless kind of way. That isn't necessarily bad if you like that style. I probably just watch far too much television though.
