What damage can your computer get?

I know very little about computers :p I was wondering what kind of damage mine receives, if any, when I leave it on for 40 hours at a time. Can it eventually mess my computer up?

What damage can your computer get?

    short answer: no

if your using windows: you will slow down untill you restart if you leave it on for a long period of time

long answer: no, unless like afore mentioned your computer has heating issues (most don't) as long as your not having it sit in a 100+ degree room at a constant full load, but leaving it on causes no harm

Your Fan will become inefective and will not be able to cool down your hardware-Possibly can cause a minor fire

Well, overheating and the fan stopping, wouldn't that only happen if you leave it on forever? If i turn it off for about 5 hours every 40 hours should I be alright?

if you have a newer computer, (hence your worry of damage)
then none of the mentioned apply

unless you live a greenhouse on the equator.

What damage can your computer get?

guys unless your running an oven for a computer there is nothing to worry about, i have an old computer that is about 5~ years old its now my server and it has been on for 3 weeks now (had to stop due to thunderstorms/possible thunderstorms)

the only real time your machine might heat up is if you playing a game with anti aliasing and antostopic filtering at high levels
