On money and Happiness

Can money bring you happiness, or is there a deeper well that happiness comes from?​

This is part of an ENGL 151 argument assignment that i am writing. i was hoping to use the sythe community as a pool of opinions on the topic.

Question

1. Can money bring you happiness, or is there a deeper well that happiness comes from?

2. Dose your character influence on weather money can bring you happiness?

for example: Some one who likes begin surrounded my materialistic items can benefit from having a plentifully source of cash. While on the other hand some one with a simplistic, almost innocent view on life can be happy with nothing but them selfs.

4. Dose society play a role on the expectations and definition of being happy, and dose it demand a connection between happiness and money?

 

Well, Money itself cannot bring you happiness.Money can bring a greedy person a sense of false happiness. Scientific stand point is this, money is an object that cannot create the feeling of being happy. Personal stand point is that money can bring you many things, and all your possessions are just replaceable objects that in the end wont do anything but let you enjoy happiness with others.

Its kinda hard to explain Ill come back in a little bit if I find a better way to explain.

 

It can not bring happiness. things as good friends, GF, family.. those kind of things are the value of richness.

 

Friends, family etc will bring you happiness but not money.
Yes I think your character somewhat influences it but not fully. I mean you can have all the money in the world and eventually get bored.

 

Money can bring happiness, yes.
However, money cannot satisfy every craving for happiness.

Money cannot bring someone back from the dead.
Money can ensure a luxurious life.

 

Happiness stemming from money TOTALLY depends on your character. Because some people are shallow enough to truly enjoy the false friends that come with money. But I think what you do with money can also make you happy. lets say you are a really generous person and youre rich but you spend your money financing poor artists or contributing to cancer patients. That could potentially make you happy.

 

Money will never bring happiness for as long as we live and have it. Where there is money there is problems. The more money you have the more problems you have. The way the U.S. government run things it that the more money you have the more taxes etc you have to pay for. On the other hand if your poor, you don't need to worry about paying bills etc.

 

I think somewhat it can because say if you love to do stuff like sports, school, ext. Diffrent activities that bring you happiness, Well in order to do some of these things, You need money to pay for it.

So somewhat I think it can, But remember, The best things in life ARE FREE!

 

I would gladly take 500 million and never see anyone i know again. Money is happiness to me.

 

So true, people say you can't, but I can find a girl to marry me even if I had 5 million...

 

i think about life in terms of desert islands. if i was on a desert island 500 mil would be nothing but toilet paper to me. so fuck it.

even is i wasnt on a desert island, id never trade 500 mil for people i know. thats a harsh existence.

 

I would still be on an island with 500 million dollars all alone... LOL

 

Money can bring temporary happiness but eventually it brings problems such as people wanting to steal from you and kill you. Then your family would be indanger with people trying to kidnap them and make you pay money..nothing in life really has a happy ending though

 

Nothing in life has a happy ending, and if someone does kidnap someone in my family money brings them back... So money still wins.

With money comes problems. Money is the cause of many families being broken apart. Money is the reason we are in war right now. Money isn't happiness, it's the root of all our problems.

Happiness is living your life at it's fullest. Living with what you got, and making the best of it.

 

ok so lets say you have money.. it buys you anything? can it buy you friends? yea sure...but not real ones. can it buy you a lover? yea and probably a good one but not one that will love you back. can it buy you pretty much whatever? sure but it cant buy you a guarantee for happiness.

 

I believe money can increase your happiness as long as it is only used to buy material goods. If it is used to buy things such as friends then it will not bring you happiness.

 

LOL, I can buy a comedian to make me laugh all day... And it got me everything else like a lover and the fake friends...

 

it really depends on what type of person you are...really thier are different ranges of types of people in which money does bring them happiness, prostitutes to business men think that money will give you happiness. why? because they only think of personel items and matierals. on ther other hand a drug addict, or achly will think of money a completely different way. they think that money itself is worth nuthin but more pain...so you choose yourself
