Economical crisis in the US

There is currently an economical crisis in the US, about loans, morgages (dunno how to write, but its a load to buy a house) etc.
It has affected the dollar, so it dropped to almost 1.41 per euro, and the value of stocks of several companies have dropped extremely. Alot of companies are now out of business.
I don't think it will affect Europe in an extreme way, because we aren't really dependend of the US. The Dutch economy is still growing, and people have more confidence in our goverment and economy. And so is the rest of Europe.
