PS3 vs Xbox360

Ok well i just saw some noob post in the intelligent discussion thread that Xbox360 is basicly the same as PS3 except xbox360 has xbox live which makes it tons better than PS3. Well his thread got locked so thats why i aren't posting on that, but everything he said was basicly wrong. I have a PS3 and i think its better, this is why:

I know Xbox360 has a better processor BUT that in MY opinion is all its got.

PS3 you can go online, yeah xbox can too but PS3 is FREE to go online.

You can download FREE demo's, music etc. off the playstation store.

It has blu ray. Which for those who think it means nothing well GTA:IV for xbox has to have a compressed game etc since their disks can't hold the space blu ray can making blu ray able to make BIGGER games.

PS3 can play in 1080P and don't say "xbox plays in 1080P" because that means you DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL YOUR TALKING ABOUT FFS. ONLY BLU RAY CAN PLAY IN 1080P.

PS3 has motion sensor, built in wireless and bluetooth.

You also get FREE system updates on your PS3.

PS3 comes with a 60gb hard drive (xbox = 20gb).

Ok thats all i got for now, post your opinions and i don't want no "xbox360 came out before ps3 so ps3 copied" since thats just a load of BS. Yeah it came out earlier, but xbox came out 1 - 2 years after ps2 and all you heard was "xbox is better" and no one accepted that xbox came out ages after PS2.

 

My brother has an XBOX 360. It's certainly a more swish looking system, but as far as he's concerned, it's a very good console, aswell.

Have you seen Unreal Tournment 3 for ps3? It makes Halo look like some fat guys ass. For those who say Unreal Tournment copied Halo well then look at when UT was first made, like 1990. Xbox has MORE good games but thats because Playstation 3 is yet to release their awesome games such as UT3, Haze, Assassins Creed (yes that is coming out on xbox360 too, i know). Ps2 had more games than xbox and ps3 will do the same once it stops producing bloody ps2 games, its a lost cause, i stopped buying ps2 games 2 - 3 years ago because they just got pathetic.

 

Uhmm on xbox 360 all you have to do is make a new profile every month and its free. So think before you post kay? Also 20gb and 60gb. Your NEVER going to use them. EVER

 

I've used 30gb's in 2 months lol so yeah you will. The new account every month is stupid because each account has its own stats so you will never be known as pro. My one ps3 account has all the stats for all the games i played. My friend is an xbox360 fan and he doesn't make a new acc each month specifically for that reason. He also said that if you download something on one acc it is only accessible on that account. How lame is that? On playstation3 you BUY an item from the ps3 store and then share it with 5 friends. For example I can buy a resistance fall of man map pack and then go on my friends playstation, log onto my account, re-download it for them and they can access it on THEIR account. This is not illegal as Sony allows you to do this but they do have a 5 people download limit for it.

 

I'm pretty sure thats thinking before i'm posting. Maybe you should take your own advice, kay?

Xbox 360 is FAR SUPERIOR THAN THE PS3.

They made alot of mistakes when they made the PS3, and I'm ready right now to tell you what all of them are.


Sure, the 360 does have it's problems, but I believe that within a couple months, the PS3 is going to fall due to sales and shit.


I'm willing to fight you on every point you make, including the PS3's shitty online. Sure, It's FREE ONLINE...But nobody really owns a PS3 because of the fucking 600$ price tag!

 

Well in Australia its $1,000 but to buy a blu ray dvd player it is also $1,000. So if you get what i mean then its like buying a blu ray dvd player and the rest is free. The blu ray dvd player in the playstation is the main thing keeping its price high, they are not allowed to lower it until blu ray dvd players are cheaper. Anyway, i've got no problem paying more for a BETTER console.

Now do you care to tell me whats wrong with Ps3's online and what flaws does the Ps3 have? Broad overviews can't really be argued therefore you must be specific.

 

-Xbox360 better interface
-PS3 better sound and graphics for most games
-Xbox360 Halo series
-PS3 Free online (not that great)
Xbox360 Online for 60$ a year (gold account) but in Quebec you struggle to connect to US servers because lack of canadian servers.
-PS3 is much more simple to use and you CAN use 1080... Xbox360 wont roll with it.
-Xbox360 has better feeling controls though in my opinion sluggish...

It's a tie... I prefer PC to be honest

 

Thank you for being specific. But if you're not a fan of Halo, what else does Xbox have to offer? I have played Halo and its the easiest game to beat, yes multiplayer is fun but theres so many limits on what you can and can't customise that just makes it boring.

 

Alright, let's point out the problems.


In America, the price tag for the hard drive system is 600$, and is -100$ for no hard drive one.

WHY A 600$ PRICE TAG???

Honestly, why would you need bluetooth, blu ray, and a whole bunch of other useless shit?
What's wrong with watching a dvd on a regular dvd play? I thought that was okay. And Bluetooth? I don't really give a fuck, all I know is that it's not necessary.

That's one for PS3.

Now, Xbox 360 has the problem of no backward compatability, which is sort of bullshit that I would need to buy Far Cry Evolution again in a 360 version in order to play it. So, I think it's not that big of a deal when you have other great sellers coming out (Halo 3, Mass Effect, and many, many others!), it just would have been a hell of alot more helpful.

I loved the PS2.

It was the first console I ever saved up my money for.
And the game selection?
Just great!
You hade all the classics!
The Jak series, Ratchet and Clank series, God of War one and two...

But what happened?

Why am I looking at a game called Heavenly Blade which is the exact rip off of God of War, except it sucks.
I played Resistance, and I hated it with a godly passion.
I'd die within 30 seconds intervals, the controls were funky, and it wasn't that good of graphics.
Sure, you may have the 6th Ratchet and Clank, so...I guess you could give you props *Swallows hard* for that.
"Lair" was supposed to be the PS3 saver, but guess what??
Because of it's bad control design and stupid wireless control tilt axis thing, it made the game just fucking terrible.
Which brings me to another point!


Why did they take out the rumble pack!!!???
It made no sence to put in this new function on the controller which...I have no idea what to call it other than "P.O.S.".
The controller design is...I have one complaint. The L2 and R2 button are very akward to get used to. It should have been buttons like the last system.


My fingers are getting tired, and I need to read from my list of reasons of why I hate the PS3 to put more material up.

whoever said the 360 had better graphics? I don't think its up for question of what has better graphics as the ps3 wins hands down.. However what makes the 360 a better system is the:

Price
Game Selection
Graphics for price

 

Of course, PS3 beats the graphics hands down...

Except when I play it on a big screen, it becomes all shitty and pixely for some reason.

The Xbox 360 online isn't free, but it sure has a hell is better, and has alot more people online than the PS3.

 

Xbox has more games, ps3 online play sucks, there is nothing like xbox live.

$500 version - 60gb, EE chip [98% backwards compatibility]
$600 version - 80 gb, no EE chip, but software emulation [80-85% compatibility], Motorstorm, extra controller.

If anything, I pick both the 360 and PS3. Both have ups and downs, what console doesn't?

For the people who say the PS3 sucks "hands down" - What if someone offered you a free ps3? Since it sucks, you wouldn't take it, right? Almost all of you hate the price, not the console.

 

Well dude a lot of your points are opinions (blu-ray, bluetooth, etc...) I would really love to have a ps3 with all those features, but honestly im happy with my ps2; awesome games, cheap, and... its awesome. BTW, along with your God of War and other ps2 games, you know a lot of games on ps2 can be played on ps3.

 

In my opinion XBOX 360 is the best console

 

ps3. Browser is amazing, i use mine as a second computer really, linux and all.
Games are fucking amazing.

 

Yea IMO PS3 has way better features. The only thing I like about the 360 is the games. But if I had to choose Id take the PS3 over the 360.
