Treatment of sex offenders

i dont necessarily think its fair that all of this is determined by age. so if someone is 20 years old and they get raped, their offender isnt as bad as if the 20 year old were 13 instead? would it not affect them as well? with the possible exception of the physical sense perhaps? i agree with the idea that someone raping a child is PERVERSE but i dont think they are necessarily any MORE wrong than any other rapist. Rape is a perverse crime regardless of age. I think sex offenders (that have been proven guilty beyond all shadow of a doubt seeing as rape trials usually go off testimony which we all know can be complete bullshit) should be locked in dark rooms with creepy noises and laugh tracks playing and repeatedly prodded with sharp sticks to enahnce child-like fear and embarassment...but unfortantely thats not the way our government works. the punishment rarely fits the crime. i do however enjoy the fact that sex offenders have to register forever. i rarely feel that the prison term really fits the time that whoever is raped will be affected by it, but at least the offender has to ALWAYS let other people know what they did.

 

Alright, what your saying is true. But about the age thing. If someone rapes a 20 year old, and a 13 year old, which is worse? well, they both are bad, but depending on the people. Sometimes, younger people tend to be a lot more emotional (especially teens). I do, in fact, have a friend that was raped when she was 12, and you can plainly see the effect it has had on her.

anyways, all im saying is that sometimes the kids will never get over it, and it screws their life up. and im not at all saying that cant happen to an adult though.

 

well i have a friend who was raped at 18 and you can CLEARLY see its had an effect on her as well. I honestly dont think you can fairly judge the result of rape by someones age. So I dont think age is a factor in rape. its rape either way. And its wrong either way.

But in the realistic aspect sex offenders are only seen such bad individuals because of the victims "waah waah ima scr4rd 4 lyf bekacuse teh RAPE!1" To many people hear rape and are like "0m6!!!! LYFE BEHIND BARS!"

My point has been proven by the people who have posted in this thread. The punishments put forth by almost all of the posters would be justified in only EXTREME cases for 3rd or 4th time offenders.

I saw first time offenders receive 5 years max and from there the time can be increased on the number of offenses.

There is no correct way to punish someone in a crime, we just do what we think is right and hopefully nobody attempts to debase the way we chose. People think sex is right in every sence, people thinks sex is completely wrong and it should never be done. Really I think the way we have it right now is fine, It will happen no doubt but I don't think changing it will do anything to stop it.

 

I have only one opinion for all sex offenders, the current jail terms, 10+ years & legal chemical castration(Sorry about spelling), in other words, legally & chemically(For a man) removing the offenders Scrotum & Testes.

 

depends on the case, but a good way is castrate them (since most of them are male). But the best thing is still to put them in prison, because IF they were found unguilty and the real offender is caught, the unguilty one may already have to live without his nutsack. It's the worst thing a man can overcome, getting his testicles removed, they are the most precious belonging of a man (no, im not gay, its the truth).
Without his balls, he is nobody.

So just put them in jail, and maybe they will get assraped by some big ass black dude, when he drops his soap.

 

especially for child rapists..quite frankly i believe that oughtta jsut be stuck in jail, nuts cut off and fed to them, then ass raped till their eyes pop out by people named bubba..

EDIT: I think people who say: "cut their nutsack off" are nonhuman, and don't know the rights of (wo)men. These things happen in countries where people are less civilised, so everybody who is saying this, think again, sex offenders are still human beings, and later most of them regret what they have done. Of course it's a terrible thing, and the victims are scarred for life, but still. Would cut off somebodies hand, who just shoplifted a store. Or slaughter somebody because he killed somebody?

People should get a fair trial, and be put in jail. And that is why I hate the US, with their death penalties. How many innocents have died in the electric chair, or shot/hung?

amybe we dont gotta go that drastic..how bout lettin the dad get alone with the offender for ..1 hour?

 

but what if the dad is a child molester himself, or some weak dude, and the rapist is bubba the big black dude?

In the majority of cases, a sex offender would offend again... since they're are sort of crazy. so i don't disagree with them being put to death.

 

I herd of a guy that raped a baby, them sex offenders should be killed period

 

i think it should be life in prison we dont need that kind of people around our kids

 

your sense of wright and wrong doesnt start to develop until your like 12 or sumthin
so why in the hell would u giv a kid life life in prison for sumthin like that?
or are you saying if they did it to a kid?
