Treatment of sex offenders

In this thread, "sex offender" shall mean someone who commits a serious sexual crime, not something like urinating in public, etc.

How should sex offenders be punished? Some call for their torture and murder, but is vengeance the mark of a democratic society?

Discuss, etc.

 

It depends on the manner of their offense.

Of course they deserve to rot in jail, if it is means of child-abuse, or rape, etc.

 

If its a minor, life in prison.
Adult, 20 years.
And if its a kid under 13, shot.

 

Well, I do think that they should be put in jail. Although it does depend on how severe it is. I mean if someone were to bind, and rape a little 7 year old girl, than it should be a life sentence, but if it was say something like you know making them do sexual acts, not rape. Than it should vary from 50-75 years depending on age. Although that's just my opinion.

 

Well it seems that nobody like sex offenders and neither do I and I say life in jail.

 

If its anyone under the age of 15 they should die. Even its 15 or 16 they should go to jail for life.

 

Agreed. You have to see the context in which the crime was commented. For example, a sexual assult where the female provokes the male, and claims afters it was rape and she was drugged. Its a touchy issue but I think if its proved then long term jail sentences arent out of the question...

 

If its male, which it usually is, just castrate them and put them under house arrest for their entire life. They would have to be tried with two different sets of jurors to make sure the evidence is good enough though. It would be the death penalty, just the death of their sex life instead of their whole body. This goes only for crimes dealing with young children. For anything older than 18, just give them a jail sentence until their too old to get an erection anyway.

 

Under age of 15 - I think they should be killed. But Im sure how... The electric chair is a easy death. I think they deserve something along the lines of touture. But only when they are certain they did the crime.

Over the age of 15 - Spend thier life in jail. I think a life in jail would be worse than a quick death on the electric chair

 

Killing someone because they had sex with a 13 year old? What if there was consent?

 

Leave them in jail, so they can be "offended" by a death row jail mate named buba

 

A handy hint: "Rape" is defined as penetration of sexual orifices, or forced oral sex. Fingering someone or penetrating them in any way is rape.

 

That falls under the definition of cruel and unusual punishment. :/

Its not rape if they enjoyed it (drugged, etc.)

 

Castrated, jail, etc

 

They should be punished according to the offense.

 

They should b tortured to the max

 

A minor and kids under thirteen are the same.
