hell yes , i seen ufos and i know aliens are with them

 

i believe there are aliens and if there are then they probably live in a Galaxy which is not carbon based like ours, so if it's like that then their process of evolution may or may not be different in the sense that they could have evolved faster or slower, went down a different path of technology due to a different mix of elements, but who knows :O

Aliens exist, go out into the country, 1000 miles from the nearest town like in the katherine gorge, lay down and look at the night sky for a few hours, you will believe in them too.

 

I believe that there may be other living things out there. But why would it matter? It doesn't. So it would be useless to fill your brain with thoughts such as these.

There are obviously aliens. The universe is TOO LARGE to have only us in it.

There even could be other humans living on a different galaxy :S

 

I do believe that there are "aliens" on other planets, I seriously doubt that with the endless numbers of planets and stars there are out there that we, earth, are the only inhabitable planet. the only reason why life worked on this planet is because of our distance from the sun, even if the chance was only .0000001% of another planet being the exact same distance from a star that we are, im SURE it would still happen.

another thing everyone has to concider that aliens may or may not be what we percieve them to be. humans try to know as much about our planet as the possibly can, but we dont know what is out there, there may be beings that are just as solid to you as the person next to you, but there could also be life on another "plane" which we cannot understand yet.

I hope you can understand that, im tired and am about to go to bed.

the whole "plane" thinking is just too much sci-fi.
without going into the physics of it, which im almost certain most of you will not understand, carbon is pretty much the only way to go.

as for life out there etc etc:
chances are slim to none.
there are FINITE number of planets/stars in the universe.
now, only type of star that can support life is a main sequence star with a luminosity of about 9.99999-1.000001
if you dont know what im talking about, google hertzsprung and russell diagram.

the next precursor for life is a lack of free oxygen.
there must be a totally anoxic environment for life to form.
that is not to say, that there can be NO oxygen, there just cannot be any FREE oxygen.
water is fine as the oxygen is binded to hydrogen.
oxygen is too volatile an element to support life, it would break down any amino acids before they evolved(chemical evolution) to form membranes etc.

now, there are 2 major theories as to how amino acids first formed, both have evidence to support them, and scientists agree that both are equally viable.
the first is chemical evolution from the start(google urey and miller experiment) to form primordial soup
the 2nd is that meteors containing amino acids hit earth during early earth developement(before the ozone was formed) and the amino acids eventually clumped together to form primordial soup. the evidence for this comes from a few meteors hitting earth back in the 70's which were found to contain amino acids.

note: amino acids themselves are not alive, they are "organic molecules" not "living cells"

ok... there are a few other precursors, but that covered the major ones.

now, lets say there are 5x10^10 planets(as fair a guess as anyone elses)
it has been agreed that the chances of another "earth-like" planet of forming is about 6.2x10^-12
put simply, there is a 1 in 100 chance that a single planet in the entire universe has the same environment needed to support chemical evolution.

Many people believe that aliens may have made contact and I doubt that they may have really tried on purpose but if they do, will you be still saying its useless.
