Paypal invoice problem

I was selling an account, found a buyer and we agreed on the price of 100$. he said he sent it, and after a while this is what appears in my email.





I find it strange as nothing appeared directly on my paypal account, and it says "pay invoice" so I click the link and this appears:



I never had to deal with invoices untill now, and it is my understanding that it's a request for a payment, and not actually a payment. What is so strange though is that it says "pay invoice" in the first screenshot, and "You received a Paypal payment of $100,00 USD" in the second. Has anybody experienced something like this before? I have no clue how to proceed as I'm not sure if it's an actual payment that is due on the 12th, or if it's a scam attempt by sending a requested payment instead of the payment itself. Help!

There's absolutely nothing reffering to an invoice. It looks the same as before this happened.

yeah, unless you have more than one paypal linked to one email address, which many people do. it could be in the other account linked.

 

I see, and is it not possible that he created an invoice and payed it aswell?

 

It means he sent you an invoice, not an actual payment. It's one of the oldest scams in the book

 

if you didnt see the payment, then it is as @Lean stated. unless you have multiple paypals linked to one email, it could potentially be in the other paypal acc

 

You got scammed mate >_< I got hit with this one a long time ago when I sold an account on CL. I didn't even question it and gave the guy the account details before I realized it.

 

That's unfortunate :/ but I actually didn't go first, and was already suspicious about everything so I made him wait untill the due date (12/01) for the supposed payment to appear on my paypal. Glad I checked with the discord chat and here first
