    In Which Our Life Is

Gah, how many times am I going to have to speak against the stupid burden of proof shifting posts. You can't disprove something of this nature. To prove that a God does not exist, you would have to be everywhere in the universe at one time checking for a God. But, we can't. Therefore, we can only make logical assessments of the situation. There is no evidence for the existence of a God. The only kind of evidence one can come up with is the "God of the Gaps" argument, and some kind of morality argument. Neither of these prove anything, in fact most of the time they undermine the idea.

This same principle can apply to Russel's teapot ( or any other object, he just uses a teapot for his example). If I were to tell you that between the orbit of Mars and Jupiter, within the asteroid belt, you would call the idea absurd. But then, I tell you that you can't disprove it, since there is no way we could see an object that small, especially among all the objects within the belt. It seems that I have no evidence, but I pull out a 2 thousand year old text that describes this teapot in detail. You would, of course, tell me that whether or not a teapot in orbit in the asteroid belt is written about in an ancient text has no bearing on whether it is actually true. But I say, you cannot disprove it. You would call me an idiot right?

Hmm.. I might. But most likely Id ask why you have to try so hard to prove to someone that they cant disprove you when no matter what, they will not shift beliefs, but simply end up frustrated as will you because often, neither side of a religous debate gives a damn what the other has to say. But hey thats just me. Love ya dude.

Urm..Please guys, remember who you are at the first place and learn your place. You are just a mere servant of God.God Created you.God's nature are not the same as us.Do not have parents, sex, age and even moods for God is the one that give you those feelings.Do you remember when your a baby? You were so weak and fragile? Now when you are grown up you think you are strong and tough. But remember in the first place, who created you? well if you say your parent lets review who create you parents and so on.If you do not believe in god thats your problem not mine.I hope you do pick the right religion before the end of time

People DO shift beliefs. It happened to me in the past. Our arguments serve to sway those who are undecided on the issue.

I know that my parents exist. The same is not true for a God.

It's people like you who brings a bad reputation to mankind. No, seriously, do you actually believe the inane bullshit that comes out of your mouth?

God is a mythic beast, like dragons, unicorns, cyclops, minotaurs, etc. Somehow, this myth has managed to survive. I blame the fact that fundamentalist breed is raised to believe in it, and all scientific data and logic reasoning is irrelevant to them, because they just "KNOW God exist." Thing is, they believe God exist because they were brainwashed from birth.

evolution genious... its not stubborn, its truth and facts, science, not silly beliefs that someone comes up with. i do not serve anyone, and why would i ever be gods servant if i couldnt even see his heavenly ass? my parents had me, not some made up fictatious character. when i am odler, i will not remember your 'lecture' do to the fact that it in all ways has no imprtance as a whole. if it were contributing to knowledge and realistic ideas with proof, i might try to file it away. when im older, i will still have no reason to believe in such things as god, at that i should be a more hardcore athiest because by that time i will have learned even more real things with proof, and not more fairy tails.

You still fail to see things correctly. We aren't being stubborn, you've just failed to provide ANY valid reason for a God. All you have shown in this thread is ignorance and HORRIBLE grammar.

I realize that people shift their beliefs. Im pointing out the "you cant prove god exists, you cant prove he doesnt" arguements. Those arguements are as long-lasting as they are completely useless. Its a moot point. It has been established that God is neither proved nor disproved. So religous debates? LOVELY. and Dpunk himself has many credible arguements against religion. He has the potential to make people question themselves and possibly have a belief shift of their own. However, noone gets anywhere with "YOU CANT PROVE HE DOES EXIST!!" "YOU CANT PROVE HE DOESNT!!!"

Believing in something means that it does not have proof. First, let me say that I am a Christian.

Some of you Athiests need to stop stuffing shit statements in every christians mouth.
For example, if a christian told you that God created you, not your parents, would you believe that all christians believe that? Some of you athiests do that. Im not saying that I do not believe that God created us, I mean some people believing in everything they hear.

You hear a silly statement and expect all Christians or believers to do that. Have you ever guys heard of "In the process of learning Christianity/Monotheism?" You Atheist can grab FACTS from science, we cannot do that. Since we cannot do that, we tend to make mistakes and/or , which lead to me saying that you cannot say that all christians believe in some silly statement, and expect the rest of the christians/believers to do the same.
    Thats called...hmm...Judgement?
In conclusion, us Christians will NEVER have physical proof of God, until he actually comes, so stop arguing about the "facts" bull crap. I know all athiests are not the same, Im pointing out to all the Atheists who think they "Pwned" the people their speaking to, but their not thinking before they speak.

    Edit: forget about the vid..

That's true, you cannot prove a negative. However, you still shouldn't believe in a pink raven just because the concept hasn't been disproved. You can accept that it is possible, however likely, but you don't need to actively believe in it.

Well, he did show how logically that there is likely to be an outside cause for the universe. However. he immediately assumed that this cause was an intelligent, loving God who shaped all of evolution.

He did not, unfortunately, show how the universe couldn't have self-originated.

We receive our eyes from evolution, our ears from evolution, and our morals from our social upbringing, not from a God outside the universe that possesses human traits such as lovingness, forgiveness, etc.

Actually, the original Buddhist teachings were Atheistic/Agnostic.

    You're right. That's why we're arguing, you know. :)

The first, second, third, and possibly fourth time a random religious gook attempted to spread the love of God with the old overused "CONVERT OR BURN IN HELL!"-strategy; was quite entertaining.

Now it's more like watching a retarded version of another half-assed American mainstream comedy show, such as According To Jim, Yes, Dear, or Friends.

I watched the first 20 seconds, then realized it was VenomFangX. That guy is a complete douchebag, he deletes all comments disagreeing in the slightest with his claims, not making any room for conversation. He also disables ratings for all of his videos at just 4 or 5 ratings, once they've reached a couple stars. How big of a douchebag can one be?

"For I say to thou, truly there must be a God - no way in Hell evolution could ever fuck up in such an atrocious way." - Me

As of now, this does not affect you. What I meant was that some people think that if they hear a silly statement, that they can just believe that all Christians, or any believers.
For example, if someone told me that all Athiests get cocky when they debate, is that true? No, its not true. There may be Some people like that, but not alot. So if someone told you, "Dude, I bet all christians think that God created us, instead of our parents, because some kid told me that God created us and not our parents!! LMFAO!!!", you are not to believe that.
As I said earlier, this does not affect you because you debate well as I have observed in other threads.

I made a mistake, realizing something about the video, as making mistakes only mean we are human.

Yeah, I made a mistake with the video. I just realized something about it.

You are a complete idiot. For one, what is shameful about not having a religion? Does not believing in the imaginary make you less of a person? Also, whats with the whole bit about the monkeys? Are you high? Gtfo of this forum if you're going to keep posting shit like this.
