Raids

Anyone try Raids yet? Actually pretty impressed with OSRS team on this one. My clan completed a raid in like 2 1/2 hours. Loot was crap but experience was fun. With some tweaks it can be really great content.

I know a lot of people are mad the loot is hard to get and the mechanics of the boss are tough, but this is exactly what Raids should be and have traditionally been in MMO'S.

I do think there should be more fighting, the standing around parts are pretty tedious and mundane.

 

So my interpretation of it or as far as I know Raids scales in difficulty based on levels + the amount of people in your party. You can have something ridiculous like up to 100 people. You earn points while in the cave and those points influence your individual drops. I'm not sure how the big drops like D Claws work. If they're automatically split up between the party or what.

I do not think you need to be maxed to do the content, but it helps. Especially early with strategies being non-existent. I was doing it on a lvl 124, so not quite maxed.

Ultimately, while reception has been pretty mixed, I think it has a lot of potential. Mainly the people upset are those that seemed to think Raids would provide the traditional quick to learn/quick to kill bosses. That isn't the case, which is great IMO. This is end game content, it's not supposed to be easy.

 

Over and Over. I'm sure once better strategies come out it will be pretty good chance of getting claws/bulwark and such. Not sure if it'll ever be consistently profitable though. They'd have to tweak some things to make that the case.

But it fills the Raids criteria nicely I think. Most of the time you get fuck-all but the chance for massive loot is there. That's always how I kind of viewed Raids in the traditional sense anyway.

I think when they got it was around 450M, probably cheaper now. Not sure what the other specialty items prices are.

Raids is definitely getting easier now that people are figuring it out. Jagex has already tweaked some things too.

 

Did about 12 rounds today got a dinh's bulwark:
(4 man team 40M splits), we each had around 25K points (26K personally)

 

straight sold it, honestly it's probably shit, the only reason I could see it being used for is bandos/zammy which we already do 4 hour trips @ in a 3 man team

 

I still need to try raids... been busy irl but will have a chance soon.

They've removed the farming tediousness which is great. Imo without a good team and max/near max gear it isn't worth it.

Yes I believe some have solo'ed it but it isnt efficient to do so.

 

Can confirm, did a solo only suiciding the last phase of olm, got lazy & didn't want to make more supplies
