Melodic Death Metal?

hey i really like listening to melodic music -usually of any genre but mostly metal- was wondering if anybody else shared the same taste i have. So far all the people i know either like 50Cent crap or Nu-metal nonscence, just wanna know if you guys heard of THESE bands:

Kalmah, WinterSun, At The Gates, Norther, Children Of Bodom, The Absence, Hypocricy, NightRage, Catamenia, SkyFire, In Flames & many other bands. . .

Also Like Black metal like Cradle of filth & Behemoth.

The lyrics make so much sence in most of their songs & are so true; you just gotta love the melody from the keyboards!!!

If there are any other people who obsess bout that genre add my msn! [email protected] and maybe we can share some 'knowledge' lol

CoB is my favorite band. I used to listen to CoF, but now I'm more into epic metal.

I've heard of Behemoth, but don't know anything about them.

 

CoB are okay, their not the best though...i mean their lyrics are...well cleche |: check CoF lyrics, or Kalmah Lyrics!!!

 

Well, CoB is more like power metal with harsh vocals, and most of these bands are playing the swedish type of death metal My kind of death metal is the brutal ones like Deicide, Six Feet Under and Cannibal Corpse. Although, CoB is my favourite new band because of the wonderful Neo-Classical guitar style Alexi Laiho uses.

If you are out for Black Metal/Viking Metal bands i suggest Bathory, Mayhem, Satanic Warmaster and Immolation.

 

Hell yeah! Personal favs include Nother,Naildown,Mors Princuim Est. melodic death owns...and Enslaved are a pretty good viking metal band as well.

 

Try out Arch Enemy and Dimmu Borgir.

 

Tool is pretty great, listen to them!

 

arch enemy and dimmu borgir are nowhere compared to kalmah and wintersun, i dont know how come their not that famous just download a song or 2 for them and you'll know what i mean..infact i'll add a youtube link...editing

what about underoath, avenged sevenfold, bullet for my valentine(kinda emo but screamo sections) there are lots more which i cant think of atm

also you might like breaking benjamin, not so much heavy metal but they do have some good melodies and rythms try downloading blow me away, or so cold

Dimmu Borgir gets flamed a lot by tr00 kvlt'ers, but I can only think of "Death Cult Armageddon" at the moment.
