To answer the general question posed by the video: Yes, I do know.

It mainly brought up figures about phenomena such as Google, Youtube, and Myspace. Some of it is manipulated statistics that fail to take certain things into account. It's all lies/speculation... I learned that especially well when I took a statistics course myself lol. This is most apparent in the beginning when they speak of countries without taking population/size into account. And they make estimations based on trends expressed by technologies only a decade old. Very easy for exponential growth to occur at the start, since it virtually start at zero. We're going through a slump right now. But there will be new technologies for computers (I'm referring mostly to quantum computing)... so any estimations are silly.

 

The entire video presented no misleading data until they said that in 2010, the amount of technical data will double every 72 hours. Obviously, if you keep on accelerating the curve without any breaks whatsoever (which never happens in reality), then this will happen.


The second misleading piece of information was that a $1,000 computer will have more computing power than the human race. It is misleading for the same reasons as above.

Other than that, everything was correct, and didn't really come as a surprise...
