Thinking of buying one of these two guitars...

Ibanez RG370DX



Cheaper by 40 bucks, no pickguard, and has gotten somewhat better reviews than the other one, at least on one site I went to. Only trouble is getting it with a black finish could be a problem, and I don't really like the blue color shown in the picture.

Ibanez RG350MDX



40 bucks more, but I like the fretboard better, has a pickguard which makes it look a lot cooler , and I can definitely get it with a black finish.

I want one of these two because I want a nice shred guitar with a locking trem, and these two fit the bill really nice. Both have one tone knob and a volume knob with a 5-way selector switch. If I buy either one I will probably put in a straplock on it right off the bat, but I probably will leave everything else the same except raising/lowering the action to where I like it. Thoughts?

 

I would try both first. If you are going for sound you will have to decide on your own. I personally enjoy the black. Baby blue on a guitar doesn't work so well...

2nd one, better features and probably is just better all-around... Most of the time you get what you pay for, MOST of the time

 

I own two of the RG series myself, one with Floyd Rose and one without, I'll tell you, tuning a guitar with tremolo is a bitch, it takes quite a bit more time. But I really wouldn't know which one, the black one looks cool, but the appearance doesn't matter, it's the quality. Sure it adds to stage presence, but like basses, the most odd looking and ugliest basses sound the greatest, so whatever feels good and sounds good is the one you want.
Personally I'd buy a Schecter or an ESP, and if you've got a big budget, a Dean.
EDIT: Oh, those don't even have Floyd Rose tremolo.

 

One word. Gibson Personally the most comfortable Guitar i've ever used is a Gibson SG. I've never really played an Ibanez before.

try hammering those on the heads of emo kids, the one that hits the hardest is the one to buy! The pickguard gives a little extra weight, so maybe try that one first. But they both look the same, but do they also sounds the same?
Look if your emo kid screams, that is the one to buy! if It cries, maybe finish him with the other guitar, who knows. But you really have to try them out (on emo kids).

Idem! BUT try epiphone, much cheaper and great qualtiy for you're price!
Ibanez gives a harder sound, but it ain't very clear.
