[Help] Good PC Gaming Monitors For My Budget?

As the holiday season kicks off, I am looking to treat myself to a new gaming monitor strictly for PC gaming. I am a little unfamiliar with the differences between a good gaming monitor for the console compared to the PC.

My budget is ~300 but would be willing to spend a little more if it's worth it.

I found this monitor; however after reading reviews, it sounds like this monitor is more for console gaming.

I also found this one and while it is $100 over my budget, it sounds like it is more suited towards PC gaming.

I am a competitive PC gamer and play mostly PvP-based games such as League of Legends and Overwatch.

With that being said, could someone point me in the right direction for a GOOD PC gaming monitor? Are refresh rates and resolutions the most important thing for me as a competitive PC PvP gamer? Please feel free to share your links of what could be a good fit for me. Looking for a 24-27 inch monitor.

Refresh rates are only important if your machine can hit it with the dps otherwise it's useless

Asus VG248QE - 144hz, 1MS Grey-to-grey response, $269 on Amazon currently. I own 3 of these and would highly recommend.

Also I would recommend going with a 24" monitor over a 27" - Generally 24" will offer a clearer image over the 27" due to the way the panels are manufactured.

If you have any questions, let me know.

Thanks N4NO! So when comparing the Asus monitors that you own to this are there really any glaring differences, or is the Acer I linked just overpriced?

Surprised nobody has asked you about the graphics card your using yet, if you're using an AMD card Freesync might be on the table within your budget and is a factor that you should definitely consider if you want a smooth, no tearing gaming experience.

Also, Amazon's search filters make me want to kill myself. Isn't there a website like what we use here in the Netherlands and Belgium: Tweakers - Wij stellen technologie op de proef

Where we can just get lists of inventory on all the webshops with price comparisons and detailed filters on the product you're looking for.

Example: LG 29UC88-B Zwart - Specificaties - Tweakers
    29inch.
    Freesync.
    75hz.
    Curve.
    IPS.
    2560x1080 Res.
