Emo Music

OK look don't single out people because they are more emotional about stuff then others. 90% of emos are just posers that are trying to live a life style that they think is cool. I am what you would call an emo: I have black hair, I listen to music with lyrics that usually are about tragic losses or of broken hearts. But I do not cut my wrists or purposely inflict pain on myself, most of the wannabe emos do that because thats what they think it is what we are constantly doing. Also people who slit there wrists are necessarily emo either, they could suffer depression, kleptomania, obsessive compulsive disorder, etc. Emo is just short for EMOTIONAL which means people who are truly emotional take rejection harder or think about there losses more then others. This doesn't make us weird it just makes other people look shallow who just get over stuff in minutes.

Music is one of the few things that bring people together. A lot of people have serious problems and they use this "emotional" music to relate and feel better about themself realizing they are not the only ones having these kind of problems.

Not technical enough for me. If you want good lyrics with deep meaning and technical instrumental skills, listen to Cynic or Dream Theater (especially Dream Theater. They own).

 

Dream Theater has amazing technicality and creativity and Petrucci is no doubt one of the most talented guitar players but like most prog metal bands the lyrical theme is always extremely cheezy. Take Scenes from a memory for example, It's a great album and the vocals sound amazing but the problem is that it's so dam corny, the whole scene to the album of a girls death is cool but the story is told like a geeky ghost story and it ruins it.
