Best way to train mage for a staker?

Well my mage on my staker is 55 atm so I now have the choice of either continuing with damage spells or using high alchemy.

Pros of Damage spells:
-You gain HP while doing it.
-Chance of good drops (depending on where you train)

Pros of High level Alch:
-Very cost efficient
-Much quicker than damage spells


So my staker is a hybrid which means I try to have my str mage and range all the highest they can be for a given combat level to maximize my HP. However, I don't know if ranged and strength alone will be sufficient in that they will give me enough HP exp each level. Do I need to level mage with damage spells in order to keep the highest HP possible or should I use Alchemy to level (if HP from mage doesn't matter)


As I'm sure many of you are more experienced than I am in staking I would greatly appreciate any feedback on this subject.

I think you should keep doing damage spells, HP is very important in staking from my experience.

 

Nah just alch. Range gives you good hp alone and doing str helps.

I used to have a mage staker and I only lved using range till lv 72 then alched to 82 mage and started staking. Made a pretty good amount of cash

 

Are you planning to do DT?

 

I'm not a mage staker, primarily range but i'd like to be able to TB eventually and no i'm not doing DT because i'll get pray xp (bad).
