Season 3 Placements

How did you guys do in your S3 placements?

I've been seeing on groups that it was more of a soft reset. This top 500 player who went 2-2-6 ended up in like 4400 ELO.
I feel like a soft reset is the best way to handle a new season.

Anyways i was 4100 last season and about to play my placements with my group. Ill update the result of my 10 games later!

*UPDATE* ---- Went 8-2 got rank 4113

 

I am currently 3-0-1 and I'll update when I finish. Last season I finished around 2700 though I didn't play as much as I would have liked. I do agree though that a soft reset should be in place, people beginning the season at 4000+ is ridiculous and will only result in rank inflation.

 

The thing is that if people in GM have to start in plat/diamond it will be total massacre for the first couple of weeks. The system would be too chaotic and it would be the wisest thing to just avoid playing for the first 2-3 weeks.

Just finished my placements, 8-2 and got 4118 which is even higher than my s2 rank.

 

I'm thinking more long term. The top ranks will eventually be flooded with people, messing with the distribution of players that should be in each rank. If they keep the system the way it is the ladder will eventually be top-heavy and ranks will mean almost nothing, kind of similar to what happened to the Global Elite rank in Counter Strike. It shouldn't take top players that long to go back to where they were if they were placed into diamond/platinum, especially if they were queueing with people of similar skill levels.

Yeah i know what you're saying. The upper ranks do get really crowded by the end of the season. Fortunately the cap is at 5k which nobody has achieved so there will always be some sort of competition towards being number 1 or being on the top 500 list!

7-3 placed 2800, climbed to 3500 finally

 

hating this meta. i dont think ill hit top 500 this season unfortunately.

 

went 8-2 got placed in 3100

 

My last season rank was like 3600 and on this season placements i got 7-3 and placed around 3.4k but managed to push to 3.6k again but.. then i went down all the way to 3k lol!

 

i ended up 3300 but i play with a group of friends and dont place on climbing tbh

 

7-3, got placed in 1500 ;-;

 

Ended up in 1350
