    Blue Screen of Death

I dont really know how to explain but i will try my best...

My computer was working fine, until it got a virus...
Then i cleared it all and it got BSODS randomly.

So i reformatted in a hope it would fix it, It did for a day or 2,
Then it kept on getting bsods on start up.
After a month it stopped loading.

    I reformatted again!
Now i still have the bsods, any ideas how to remove?

I get the BSODS when i start up.
I will get BSODS for about 5 minutes after i press the start button,
If i restart it every 30 seconds i will get a BSOD
If i start it, come back to the BSOD and restart it after 5 minutes it will load fine.

This seems really wierd to me any help?

What does the BSOD say? What error code, etc?

hmm...i don't know how to rectify the problem (Best way you should send back to your brand dealer and have it repaired) though i do know that bout 80% of people who get the blue screen virus are usually for watching a bit too much pornography haha.

Same thing happened to me. It could be hardware failure or anything. I know others will probably disagree but there is a battery inside you computer that looks like a nickel, pull that out for 3 minutes and it will clear the CMOS on your motherboard. This has solved very many things for me.

That blows and yes removing the battery might work.. I think but, when I did that it took off my bios pass :/ so i think its useless.. You could just try starting from the beginning .. Delete your partions and reinstall windows that would work easiest :D

Clearing the CMOS by removing the battery or moving the jumpers will reset the BIOS settings.. This only usually works if that was what caused it in the first place.. Usually from things such as overclocking. If you don't know what the CMOS is.. Not a good idea to try clear it - could cause serious long term damage. ;)

Could be a RAM problem or hard drive problem, unless you are simply becoming reinfected with the same virus. Try following my security guide on our site.

hmm I think it might be that your hard drive is corrupted.

    1. Start | Run | CMD

    2. chkdsk /f

    3. y

    4. Restart your computer and let it run.

if that dosent work tell me and ill give you some more information

Flashing your BIOS (Thats what it's called) wouldn't work, as that just a small (8Kb) memory dumb so the system can remember such things as Time for example, while completely cut off from a power source.

I agree with Phil, your HDD is most likely dirty. You might want to set it to run chkdsk at bootime.

    Code:
    -Start | Run | "CMD"

    -"chkntfs /C :C"

    -"shutdown -r -f -t 00"

Actually, if you're running Windows XP, I'm pretty sure a BSOD is always related to a hardware, BIOS or STOP error. A corrupted HDD may cause that, though it's also likely you may have unseated chips, overload of dust, BIOS problems or some other hardware issue.

Try to take a picture of the BSOD with a camera (as I assume you can't printscreen it) and tell us the STOP error you're getting. That will help to analyze the problem.

If you're not using XP, then upgrade. ;)
