There was no message at the start of the movie saying, "All aspects of this movie are factual". Movies aren't meant to be factual unless they're documentaries for the most part. They're meant to be entertaining. I come to a movie to be entertained, not enlightened.

Next time try finding other sources of information other then Wikipedia, you might learn something. (A lot of the spartans were actually homosexual.

When stories are passed down people exaggerate in order to make them more EXCITING and ENTERTAINING.

Also, the Gates of Fire were not 20 feet wide, as shown in the movie. It was more like 200 feet or something.

Learn to spell, please. And its a movie. Did not say that it was only 300. It was in the p.o.v of the spartans. Not the others.

 

1.) A history graduate could probably spell correctly. Especially at the glorious University of Texas!!!
2.) It is a MOVIE, as a HISTORY major maybe you should know that in the PAST movies are generally for entertainment not for fact.
3.) Don't assume you are smarter than someone just because you have a piece of paper saying "diploma".

Actually, the only reason they didn't was because Themistocles was holding them off by navy. As in the movie, ships were destroyed by a large storm - but only 200. Themistocles held them off until the 300 were defeated - And, seeing no point to defend anymore, he went back to Greece.

So, yes, they DID come by boat, but they did not get there.

There WERE oracles, and Leonidas believed in them. What you meant is that they didn't have powers.
