What you can see from this thread, is that @Shin clearly doesn't do his research when someone is disputing a ban.

So, because a ban doesn't have any notes on it, it's a cue to just go ahead and unban them without personally checking to see if there was a reason for the ban; more so than what appears? Alright.

I feel bad for @Top Elite in regards to how poorly it was handled. There was a valid scam report, and he was left unbanned.

 

I clearly did do my research, but was unable to find any outstanding reports.

When the report was handled by @FireZ, he was supposed to edit the ban reason accordingly.

 

But the user should've been banned the second knowledge of him owing money was declared; he was left unbanned, and managed to get rid of his mini ranks as a result. Why was this not done?

 

Whether or not he got rid of his miniranks is irrelevant, as we can't force-ably remove and/or give whatever miniranks we want to another user without an agreement between both users.

He was not banned so he could have an opportunity to respond. Thor messaged me on Discord and said he would try to work out something with Top Elite since he had well over $40 worth of miniranks to offer.
Why he decided to dice them all at once against Gun is beyond me.

The debt owed was as a result of his account being hacked.

@Top Elite mentioned in his report that he was happy to accept miniranks as compensation. However, he must have wanted ALL of his miniranks if he wasn't paid and "forgot" to mention all the PM's between himself and Thor. When trying to work out a resolution, he wasn't interested in the miniranks at all unless he was getting a large portion paid in RSGP and miniranks for prices lower than Bogdan.

 

In situations like these, we have to remember that safe is better than sorry.

I'm sorry if I come across as blunt, but I can't help but feel the situation was handled poorly. Although you followed protocol, when a user is appealing or disputing a ban, a reimbursement equaling the amount owed is always priority. The same concept should've been applied here. I do however realize that you guys are branching out in terms of acceptance in regards to this; sometimes a user is let back into the community if they are considered a non-threat, and are put on payment plans for reimbursing affected users.

As for the mini ranks, does it really matter what the user feels or thinks? They were hacked because they didn't keep their information secure -- does this mean they are exempt of repaying any scams? Whether or not the user agreed to having their mini ranks taken from them is irrelevant.

I hope you understand the point I am trying to make.

 

Which is why I said openly on Discord to many individuals at the very minimum he should have been banned from the Donor Lounge. Someone felt the need to relay that message to Top Elite in private and somehow appears to have gotten around to you.

It seemed to me like you were a part of a circlejerk. I don't need you to sit here and patronize me while making a PSA or telling me how the rules are.

But let's do what people on Sythe love to do. Stir up more unnecessary drama and blow things out of proportion.

The ban reason that should've been updated/applied is currently in effect. You're free to blame me all you want while spreading lies about the work I do.

It doesnt matter if I wanted ALL of the miniranks or SOME of the miniranks. What I wanted was the 40m that was scammed from me as I'm not as interested in miniranks anymore. The fact that he was a known scammer from that account and was still allowed to be a part of the community and do whatever the hell he wanted was complete and total bs. You told me contact him about compensation which I already did before you said. So no I didnt "FORGET" to put the convos didnt think that was necessary at all so dont try to make me out to be the bad guy here @Shin. Have absolutely no problem with you but you completely dropped the ball on this one period. @Realist reported that Thor was selling minis and you denied it.
This isnt a huge deal but if you dont think you dropped the ball here then theres an issue there period. Sometimes its best to admit it then sit there and deny it.

 

While all of these are valid points; they are debunked by the one fact that the user should've been re-banned the second it was established that he still owed money. Just because his ban dispute was accepted, this doesn't make him exempt of having his ban re-applied to his account.

I am not part of a circle jerk, or anything for that matter. This is my personal opinion, and it will vary from person to person.

I am not flaming you, I am simply giving my opinion -- feedback if you will -- in a sophisticated manner at how the situation was handled. When @Top Elite created his or her thread, the main question was that he still owed money, and he still does.

As for spreading lies about you, you know this isn't true. As a high tier staff member, the actions you take speak of you. When Thor appealed his ban, you should've done the research before granting him reinstatement, as should anyone that is part of the staff team pertinent to handling account inquiries -- the fact that you didn't do that, is the problem exactly. If you don't even care about this, you are setting an example for other people, one of which shouldn't be encouraged.

It doesn't matter if a ban reason or thread was attached to the note, research should always be done about the people disputing or seeking pardoning.

As I said, he was given an opportunity to respond like every other user is normally granted. However, he should have received a ban from the dice lounge since there was an outstanding debt. That was an opinion I brought forth because it's how the rules are written.

For the one millionth time, I did research before granting reinstatement. There was nothing listed in their ban reason as it should have been, and no threads were showing up while doing searches at the time. I don't understand why you keep ignoring this.

And research is something I always do. Nothing showed up.

 

Doesnt matter if it was hacked he still pays back whats owed. Anyways I'm not mad about it just was handled a lot different than I would have expected. Doesnt matter anymore so hopefully he pays back whats owed. If not then oh well.

 

Fortunately, he seemed like a decent human being since returning, despite being hacked. Some things should have been handled differently though.

I hope he'll pay back what was scammed by his hacker as well.
