    Virus Discussion

Hmm. Well I jsut had over 2347 files infected in my computer with trojans aha. Heres the story.

After i quit playing runescape I started playing Diablo II. So I went to go find some hacks and stuff for some. And I found 1 that was to good to be true. But even if it was a virus. I was very sure that my virus scanner could handle it. So I downloaded it. And what do you know. It was hidden very very well. So. I spent about a week deleteing all the files. They were spreaded out from my WinRAR files all the way to my Windows files. It was madness. Finaly i deleted all the bad files. Everyone of them that you clicked on, it would open up a little icon on my toolbar. Called xpupdate. They named it that so you would think it wasn't a virus and make you think it was more like a small update. WHen you hover'd your mouse over it it would say "Your computer is infected" to make you think it was your virus scanner telling you that. I figured out that it was a few trojans in my pc. (Most virus's are) and it was trying to send out my credit card and stuff. So i said thats gotta go. And it took me a whole week to get everyone of them little backdoor files out. After I deleted the files my free space jumped from 69% all the way to 83%.

This thread it to explain about all your previous virus's and what the've did to your pc.

I know you have a pc because macs would never have this problem, when you buy your next os system think about buying a mac. No virues or spyware, (for the people that will post saying there is they are wrong there is not one that can get into a mac.)

Not true, I published the source code to a virus, and if theres no hackers, how are linux dedicated servers rooted? Stop using your generic pro linux bullshit and learn the real facts.

Heh, back in the day, when I knew NOTHING (I didn't even have a firewall), I had a bad virus that autokilled explorer.exe and brought you to a new gay porn website every few seconds.

Every time I get a virus (which rarely happens) I just back up my files and format the hard drive.

you could do that but that takes a while because you would have to reinstall your os every time which is anoying.

How wrong you are. There are plenty of viruses, worms and trojans for OS X. There was recently a massive security scare because a massive vulnerability was found in fully patched OS X systems. The virus spread like wildfire because most OS X users are too stupid to use anit-virus programs because they think they are untouchable.

The most secure OS is Linux, but it's also far from impenetrable.
Common sense is a better defense than any OS security features or anti-virus programs.

Want proof that OS X isn't immune to viruses?

That's just one virus from 2006.
