Musical Snobs

I like to listen to almost all kinds of genre's, metal, classical, rock, jazz, blues, edm, rap, trap, you name it i truly enjoy them all.
However a lot of my friends are art students and they can be the snobbiest people when it comes to music. The only thing they particularly listen to is alternative rock. They get hard-ons for bands like the killers and radiohead. Everything else that is not in this genre is trash for some reason.

Can someone explain to me whats up with these bands that make their fanbases believe they're the best. I dont fucking get it.

Have you had any similar experiences? I have also heard that metal-heads think they listen to the best kind of music.

 

Just tell them that being elitist about their music taste to others is about as useless as a art degree for finding a career/building a future.

 

oh yeah for sure i do remember to tell them how useless they are but what im trying to figure out is why is it that genre that attracts the most snobs?

 

it's got nothing to do with the bands - there's always been people who think highly of themselves.


(also, the killers and radiohead? haha, come on lol... that screams meme)
