No prayer?

I started a range pure a couple weeks ago. I raised him to 61 range, and 50 HP. Then I got 25 prayer so that I could go PKing with my dark bow. But now that I'm learning more about pures I'm starting to realize it wasn't the best thing to do. But is there any type of ranger build that would be good with at least 25 prayer?

 

44 pray is the best option for you

 

Does eagle eye make a noticeable difference though? And what about def? Should I just leave it at 1?

 

If you are going to keep pking then keep def at 1 but if you are going to stake then get it to 40.

 

I agree. Get prayer to 44,stay at 1 def. Get range as high as you can.

Thanks for the advice guys I'm currently working on 10k iron arrows then I'm gonna get back to training. Also, would magic be worth getting? Or would I not end up using it much without ancients? The only thing I can really see myself using in a duel is snare.


***EDIT*** Also, why get 44 prayer if in almost every duel they select no prayer as an option? Or is that only at lower levels?

Well your talkign about dueling now. Decide, are you gonna be a staker or a pker?

It's easy. 40 def for staker. 1 for pker.

Well, it seems to me like dueling takes more skill - and its not about who can pile jump someone and get a lucky shot. But eve if I do become a dueler how would 44 prayer help if they select no prayer as an option almost every time? And also, what would the 40 def be for? If I wear armor it lowers my range attack.

 

A true pure is 1 defence and 1 prayer.

 

52 prayer if you plan to pk. Trust me, smite helps you rack in those extra loot. Eagle eye is like having 80 range while your range is only 70.

 

But where would I go pking at? It seems to me like the only two places to PK are right on the edge of the wildy, where people just run right out. And the lever to ardy, which is full of level 100+'s. I don't think as a pure ranger I could do THAT good.

 

pking at edge is alot easier(for me anyways) because you always have to share the loot if you kill someone if your in a team

 

But how is pking at edge eaiser? If on the off chance I get someone down low they just run out. But I usually dont get them that low because they do SO much more damage then me. Someone hit a 35 on me last night with a rune c'bow. That is INSANE, no matter what kind of bolts he was using. So if anyone has any tips on a better thing to use then rune arrows and magic shortbow please let me know

 

as for the mage .. dont worry about it yet .. when u have a good enuff range u should get mage .. since it doesnt affect ur CB level

 

How is prayer going to help me on the edge of the wilderness? I have only gotten like 4 kills total. And I have used over 600 lobs PKing. Along with 500 rune arrows. It seems to me like prayer isn't going to help me do THAT much more damage and is more of something you use deep in the wild.

Teleblocking in level 1 wilderness is a waste IMO. Its not the magic I'm worried about right now. I want to know if my guy has good potential.

The way I see it, is once I get 44 prayer I'm stuck with PKing. But I never see anyone around level 60 (The level which I would be) out deep in the wilderness. So then I could either PK right at the edge of the wilderness, use 10x more lobs, and get 5x less kills. Or duel, and be about 5 levels higher then I should because of the 44 prayer. I'm really stuck on what to do and want to know if I should just make another guy with 1 prayer before I get this one too much farther.
