Black/Death Metal

Why do so much of ya'll like it??? I mean honestly, I don't know ANYONE who listens to this music. I mean, I'm all for rock and a little metal, but death metal is just horrid... The lyrics are often distgusting and hearing the music makes me want to puke and scares me to shit... Please tell me why you enjoy this music! God, so many people on this forum are unnatural

 

Ummm maybe because it's simply amazing. There's plenty of great solos in death & black metal.I also believe black metal is truly amazing not only lyrical wise but also musically,some might hear black metal and think its just noise,but I belive theres something more,it teaches you a lesson. The atmosphere in black metal is like no other,the feeling behind it is simply amazing. Also as I stated the lyrics in many black metal song are truly a work of art,filled with amazing insightful lyrics which I believe lack in nowaday's trendy malcore bullshit. Take for example the following song:

Well, in a more generalized statment:

Death metal: lower,deeper grunt styled vocals. Lyrics mostly about death,gore stuff like that.

Black metal: Higher shreiking vocals. Lyrics mainly about satanism,paganism,old Norway,Norewegian culture,etc.

I pulled the Cynic - Textures card on you. Just goes to show its not all brutal.
Acutally you will only find Jazz-metal fusion in Death Metal like Death, Pestilence, Cynic, and Atheist. Only the most insane musicians go for Death Metal for some reason (And insane guitarists go for power metal, Yngwie?)

You CANNOT start off on Death Metal with stuff like Cannibal Corpse. You need to start on the thrashier death bands like Septulura (fuck how do you spell it again?), or even death.

 

yeah, i agree with both cstrike and datsyuk metal is not all about death and gore. But as strike said thinking that metal is just everyband/song is like cannibal corpse is just ignorant.

Well it's not like cannibal corpse is the only band I've listened to, they were just an example... and cstike, I like lighter metal and a little thrash metal, but what i don't get is why people enjoy listening to the screaming metal LIKE cannibal corpse.

 

what the kid said above, and to your question its just like you with what you like, some people like it because it sounds good etc. and as for me i only listen to bands i can understand atleast the majority of the song, and for bands that are like cannibal corpse (being one of my favorite bands) it would be because it gives me a rush i dont know why it just does music is like a drug to me i guess. i use to love thrash music but now i mean some of it still does it for me but ive moved onto harder music aswell. but dont get me wrong i listen to every type of rock and metal except stuff labeled under the type of emo as in mcr or the used etc. but i listen to the kinda girly music to some of the hardest stuff you will ever hear, just depends on the mood im in and if i went to get some energy i bust out the death\black metal. lol not sure if im just talking in circles or not i hope this helps answer your question.
