My PC build, lmk if I've done something stupid.

Looking at getting a UltraWide for gaming and then two other monitors set up above it, just for other stuff. One of the ultrawides I'm looking at is 3440x1440. Hoping to get over 100fps at least on games like Ark: Survival Evolved ultra settings.

What is your guys' take on the water cooling Corsair H100i V2? I was reading the reviews and they seem pretty good generally, but like all products the 1 star reviews are horror stories. People are saying it could leak or fail and destroy your PC. I was considering picking up NewEggs refurb option for $70($30 less than lowest retail). But now I'm second guessing. I really dislike the big air cooling products. On the other end I did some Googling and people say that leaking is extremely rare.

I'm also reading Corsair will replace parts damaged by their parts.

What do you guys think?

 

As far as actually daming your PC goes, the chance is very slim. The only 'bad' thing for AIO coolers are price/performance ratio and maybe pump noise. AIr will generally do the same for less with less noise, but then again, AIO coolers look so good with a windowed case. I actually have a H110i myself and cooling is more than adequate, the pump does rattle from time to time but you can't beat the looks.

 

Good to hear! Thanks for the feedback. I agree, the aesthetic value is 10/10. +1 for the H100i.

 

By the way, NZXT (same brand as case) also make AIO coolers, take a look at their X62 cooler. Much more appealing than a H100i but it does cost more. They also make some other cool shit like the NZXT HUE+, some RGB fans, etc which can really make a specific theme come to life.

Lol those little cheapos at NewEgg, I bought the CPU last night at 1 am because it said the sale ended in 1 HOUR. Now it says 2 days again lmao.

Yeah I might consider that cooler depending on the response I get from Corsair about their cooler.

 

I've had mine for 2 months about now and it's working like a beauty. I did see things of where people would get ones that were torn but I always saw the same thing about the motherboard I bought and they both work perfectly...Knock on wood.
