Alright so you want to make some flames like
    [IMG]
    Well if you do
    [hide]
you have to do the following things
open up an new document with the following settings
    [IMG]

    colour your backround with black
    [IMG]

    get rectangular marquee tool
    [IMG]

make a rectangal around about 1/5 of the rectangle
    [IMG]

fill in your rectangal with white
    [IMG]

    you should have something like
    [IMG]

now go to filter > blue > gaussian blur > and then put the bar at 15-16
    [IMG]

make a new layer and then duplicate your new layer 6 times with ctrl + j
    you should have
    [IMG]

now undo all of the eyes on the layers except for
    [IMG]

now pop out your smudge tool
    [IMG]
and put these settings in it
    [IMG]

now with your smudge settings you have to draw the flames...
is what it should look like or similar to after you use the smudge tool

now make your layers part of the menu look like
    [IMG]

then put in more flames... but different don't copy and paste
and then do that with layer 3 and just keep on doing that until your done all the layers.

After that you need a new toolbar so do this
    [IMG]

with that toolbar this is what it should look like
    [IMG]
if it doesn't as long as you have something like this
    [IMG]

make the toolbar look like this...

alright so... now you need to make a new frame
    [IMG]

    then do this again
    [IMG]

    and then this....

    now
    [IMG]

    yet again
    [IMG]

then just keep on doing that with all of the different layers....

After your animation bar looks like this [IMG]your finished with that than you need to.... colour change it....
    do this
    [IMG]
heres the colours for my second example of fire.

make sure the colour balance is where it is in this pic
    [IMG]

now you need to save it go to here
    [IMG]
    and here are the settings
    [IMG]
save it to whereever you want in your computer and now there ya go some animated flames post your examples of what you guys got...[/hide]

I usually just save every frame individually then put it all together using a different program.

Question: When you make a "New Frame", Does it automatically add what is visible?

gimp flame anims are so much easier, smoother, and more detailed if need be.
I'd suggest making flames on gimp with incandescent, swirl ccw, and grow.

Wow you're dumb. You don't have to learn everything you know from a tutorial. I learned almost (almost) everything I know from experimenting with different setting. You don't have to rely on nothing but tutorials.
